I love going to Haven! The owner is amazing, hot and full of positive energy. This shows in the decor, wine and food. The wine selection is great and the food is fresh. The staff is attentive and friendly. I love sitting on the well decorated back patio at the end of the day. The live entertainment is awesome and this is the best music spot in the county, especially on Sundays.
Review Source:Went up to Paso for wine-tasting recently and ended up at Haven Wine Bistro on a Friday night. What a great night it turned out to bet! The staff was high-energy and provided great service. They had a great selection of wines and the cheese plate I ordered was delicious. The place had a really nice vibe especially with the live musicians. Such a warm and cozy place on a damp night as well. Will be going back again for sure!
Review Source:While taking a walk downtown one weekend, we stopped for a glass of wine and and to hear some live music! How charming to sit out back under the stars o a beautiful evening and listen to exquisite guitar. Nice Crowd and friendly service, good friends and good music! I will be coming back!
Review Source:Nice place to stop by for a glass of wine.
However it does not offer the same atmosphere or nibbles as STAX in Morro Bay.. Nor any wine tasting menu...
But if you can't stand Terry's (with its very interesting crowd) or Camozzis Saloon (with its very interesting staff) this is a good alternative.
They offfer live music. And there is patio seating available.
I'm no wine specialist,(I prefer beer actually) but I loved this place.I went there on a Saturday evening and sat out in the nice patio with a friend and had great wine with excellent food .Well, now for a little update. I went there with some friends on Friday night and there was only two people in the place. We were all set to have some wine and beer and they hit us with a 5 dollar cover if we wanted to sit out on the patio where some unknown musician was playing. The impending 20 dollars on top of our potential  drink bill ran us off. I guess that's just not such a good business plan.
Review Source:This Wine Bar has by FAR the BEST ATMOSPHERE on the Central Coast. Â A Friendly Knowledgable staff makes your experience both educational and fun. Â The outdoor patio is Great! Â The ladies stayed inside while the guys enjoyed cigars and beer by the firepit. Â Nothing like a Fire to keep my attention. Â We ended up staying long enough to have dinner and the food Chef Debbie made has a Southern touch I fell in love with. Â Thursday night they usually have Wine Maker Dinners. Â I look forward to trying one of those soon! Â The only thing I wish they had was a Full service bar. Â I was in the mood for a Martini. Â Shakin not stirred!
Review Source:Just got home for dinner at Haven Wine Bar.
We got there a little early so the place was still pretty empty. It began filling up by the time we'd been there for about 20 minutes or so.
We got our wine/beer list and menus and began making choices. My husband selected a Firestone DBA from the beer selections and I selected a Syrah I was interested in trying.
Jackie came over to take our order. I told her the wine I had chosen and she said they unfortunately didn't have that wine but she could bring me a couple to taste that she thought I might like. I tried them both and she was right, I did like one of them, the Homestead Red. Interested in learning where this wine came from I "googled" it when I got home and discovered it's from Texas and not from one of our many local wineries.
We then ordered our food. I chose the grilled cheese panini and my husband chose the turkey panini. My grilled cheese was THE best grilled cheese I've ever had, Gouda, Provolone and Cheddar on excellent rustic bread grilled to perfection.
I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for friendly atmosphere, a casual meal and a great glass of wine.
We will definitely be going back.
It is so, so wonderful to have a place like Haven in Atascadero. Their wine and beer selection is superb. I really appreciate the attention they pay to stocking local wines and the attention that gets put in to promoting those local wines. The paninis are delicious. The wine and food pairings on Thursday nights are a steal at $25 and the chef really goes above and beyond to make sure the pairings are perfect. I also really appreciate the fact that Haven is a safe, classy place. My mom and I go in there often when my husband is at work and feel 100% comfortable. Keep up the good work!
Review Source:We walked in and took a seat at the bar. Â We were greeted by a very friendly bartender, Jen, and the owner. Â They had a great selection of local central coast wines and the pours were heavy. Â They also have a patio out back with a fire pit with a few tables around. Â They even provide blankets to keep you warm. Â Bottom line is the atmosphere is great, selection is fantastic, service is awesome, and price is to be expected. Â Definitely a must if you are in Atascadero and looking for a place to have a nice glass of wine.
Review Source:We were in Paso Robles on Harvest Weekend and could not find a decent restaurant that was not booked in town. So we searched in the little town of Atascadero four miles to the south and found this gem. That's not to say that Haven was not crowded. It was full of people sipping wine, listening to live folk music, eating and socializing. They had to actually get another table for us to sit at.
The menu consisted of sandwiches and salads, but they had a couple of specials like pasta and pork loin. The pasta was very good as was the Greek salad. But the real star was the wine list. It consisted of numerous Central Coast wines ranging from the Santa Ynez Valley to Paso. There were a number I had not heard of, and I thought I knew all the wineries in the area. We tried three different wines by the glass, none of which were familiar, but all of which were superb. We learned about a new, young winemaker, Janelle Dusi who is the daughter of one of the renowned Zinfandel vineyard owners. She makes a super Zin.
Beyond all this the prices were very reasonable. We would certainly have paid more to buy wine at the winery. And we bought a bottle of J Dusi for an 18% discount from the restaurant price.
The owner of Haven is quite the entrepreneur. She took us for a tour of the very unusual day spa she owns next door. We can't wait to try it tomorrow. She is justifiably proud of her work.
great environment, friendly service, super convenient location. Â We are excited to have a great place in Atascadero to go and have a glass of wine after work or meet up with friends. Â Haven't tried their food yet, but looked good. Â Also I'm excited to try their meet the winemaker nights...soon!
Review Source:Thank you for opening! Â
Haven is one of a few new  very bright spots downtown.  It's the only place in Atascadero with an easy going, and fun social scene that makes me want to wear dress shoes.
Haven has a solid food menu, beer and wine. Â You won't find your bar fly types here. Â The prices and pours are reminiscent any of the higher end spots in Paso or SLO. Â The atmosphere is moody, and hip.
We have heard some amazing live music over a few glasses of beer and wine. Â Â Make sure to check on the calendar! Â They are a perfect match with the up and coming north county hipsters, galleries, organic food and fig. Â
The beer list has a 8 or so of the popular domestic and imports, and the wine list has many of the more dominant local varieties. Â Prices are not cheap, but I don't complain as I find the experience worth every penny.
I do hope for a day when we can get some of the more cult'ish wines and beers at Haven, but I know that the A-town market is not quite ready for it and I don't expect them to go deep into the cellar for me personally =).
Cheers to Haven!
