Hmm, I've been to Haywoods a few times for lunch while in the area for work, and have also had cocktails after work hours. Â All of my experiences have been great. Â Good food at a good price (think delicious American style bar food). Â They have a full bar at cheap prices and seem to usually be offering drink specials. Â The place also seems to never be empty which is a good sign.
The only knock I have, which I think I may have listed in my "tip", is that the portions are MASSIVE. Â There is no way a normal human who consumes a normal amount of food could ever finish any of their plates (I struggle to eat half). Â I personally think it's a big waste, but some people may think of it as a "positive". Â The food prices are good, so why in the world wouldn't they cut the portion sizes down by 33%, to normal human sizes, and pocket the extra profit?
Regardless of portion size, this is the best spot in Muncy, with Orlando's down the street coming in at second.
We were in a large party of 25. The room was very warm to the point of being uncomfortable. Â Several orders messed up. Tell waitress that that's wrong and she pull out her order sheet and tells you that not what you ordered. Â She wrote it wrong but tells you that you ordered it wrong. Â This happened to several in the party. Â They had one waitress for 25 people.
Review Source:To be honest, I haven't tried a whole lot on the menu, but with good reason. Â I go for the cheesesteaks, and sometimes I'll get the wings.
Starting with the wings...I think the hottest level is suicide, which isn't all that hot. Â I'm pretty sure they just add extra hot sauce to the wings. Â The garlic hot is pretty good, not a whole lot of heat, but I do enjoy the flavor. Â They really pile the garlic on, and I'm always happy with that. Â They are cooked well also- overall, very good.
The cheesesteaks are amazing. Â You won't get better cheesesteaks in the area. Â The rolls are fresh and I'm pretty sure they toast them on the griddle. Â The american cheese is basically melted into the meat, and it comes with fried onions and mushrooms, served piping hot. Â Great flavor with a soft roll but still crunchy from being toasted. Â The cheesesteaks are served with fresh thick cut fries. Â Sometimes they aren't fried far enough, but usually they're good, and sometimes they're perfect. Â
For $10, most people usually get two meals. Â The portions are big enough that you can take half the sandwich and fries back and still be stuffed. Â The service is good, too, they are always refilling our drinks and making sure we have what we need. Â They're all really friendly, too. Â I would go there any day!
