Forget Applebee's, this place is amazing. Sit at cowhide covered tables inside stalls that used to be for milking, or in the bar area with a NASCAR theme, select from a wide variety of beers, with several on tap, or cocktails, order charred salmon or filet mignon or a Heinnieburger, I'm coming back!
Review Source:what can I say? this place used to be a barn. Â all the tables here are situated in former stalls. Â there's a restaurant side and a bar side. Â came here with the family party of 10 including the kiddies and apparently we took up two stall spaces. service was slow but at least friendly. i think there were only two, maybe three, servers and most of the tables were full. Â despite the long wait, all our entrees came out piping hot which means the cooking was timed just right. Â everyone seemed satisfied with their food as I didn't hear any complaints. Â i ordered the fried haddock with fries. the fries by the way were the big steak fries, my favorite kind. Â the dish was served with a very good tartar sauce which may have been made on-site and not the bottled kind. mom ordered the grilled salmon served with a side of baked potato. Â i think dad and sister shared a steak, and brother and kids ordered a juicy cheeseburger. Â i'd definitely go back. feels good to advocate a place with decent grub that has local roots.
Review Source:My family and have been going here for years and although the prices are high has been a good place....until. My wife ordered the fried chicken dinner, when it came out it was way over cooked. She tried to eat some of eat but it wasn't good. When she told the waitress that it was over cooked and asked if they could cook her new chicken the waitress immediately got an attitude and said "yeah, but it will be 20 minutes". Now I don't claim to be a chef but if you burnt someones food, you would think you could expedite it quicker since chicken takes less than 10 minutes in the pressure cooker. My wife just said no that's ok just take it off the bill. What aggravated me most was they messed up her dinner, but made sure she paid for her salad. I think it pretty low.
Review Source:Heinnies is the kind of hidden gem that's hard to find unless you're a local. Â It's tucked away slightly off the beaten path and doesn't have a large flashy sign out front ushering you in. Â Walking in the regulars turned their heads but then continued on with their own business.
Ordered a Heinniecheeseburger cooked rare with the all fixings and a basket of waffle fries. Â It was a patty formed from 1/3 pound of fresh ground Prime steak trimmings topped with American cheese on a soft white bun.
The burger was the juiciest most flavorful burger I have ever had. Â And I've eaten a lot of burgers. Â The patty juices completely wreaked havoc on the bun. Â The buns held up until the end, but barely. Â The rabbit food is completely unnecessary and might have ruined a lesser burger. Â In the Heinnie the vegetation merely acted as a distraction and I didn't notice it. Â Get your burgers with just cheese, patty and bun and you'll be loving it.
Waffle fries were perfectly fried and seasoned.
For the big boys, they have the Claybaugh, which are two Heinnies topped with just about every single type of cheese and topping possible. Â I wasn't ready for a food coma just yet though, maybe next time.
Prices can't be beat w/ the Heinnie being 5 bucks and a Heinnie plate rounding out at 7.45 (includes fries and slaw).
If you ever find yourself in the area and can appreciate a good burger, it's a definite must try.
