A real family feel and homecooked food. Came here for lunch and got a good old-fashioned chicken-fried steak and mashed potatoes with corn ($8!!). My aunt & cousin ordered the Margaritas and they looked quite generous.
After a few hours of running around town with a cousin, I was ready for dinner, and came back here. One of the twins who work here said he still had a fresh chicken breast ready to go, so I ordered a grilled sandwich and it was delicious. Couldn't even finish it all, or the picnic-perfect potato salad, but I did have an innerestin' conversation with a feller who looked like he'd planted himself on the barstool about 50 years ago and never left.
If you want to know Hiawatha, this is the place.
This is a cool little bar to go to. I think there are others but from what I hear from the folks that live here, this one is the best. There is a liquor store right next door. The bar has a decent menu to order from and the food is very good. I had mostly fat food like jalapeno poppers, chicken wings, stuff like that. The beers are a good price also. There is also a very good juke box. Bartenders were very cool and lots of fun.
