Hickory House Restaurant

We stopped here on our way to our campground. The service was just okay. The chicken (the Hickory House specialty) was tasteless and the prime rib was grilled (not baked and then sliced). It was also tasteless. My daughter ordered a chocolate shake but they had neither chocolate ice cream nor chocolate syrup, so she got vanilla. My baked potato was baked last week some time and re-warmed when I ordered. Two of the kids had burgers, which they said very very good. There seemed to be only one woman working the front of the restaurant and she was busy and thus huffed when we'd ask for extra au jus or something else.

Definitely nothing remarkable about this place.  We were sorry we stopped.

Not much to look at, but in a beautiful location and within walking distance of our hotel.  The staff was friendly and efficient and the price was reasonable.  It seemed like there were a lot of locals... which is always a good sign.  Would definitely stop again if I find myself in the neighborhood.
