Hillside Family Restaurant

This place was the only place that was near the hotel that i was staying called comfort inn i thought it was cute how there is only one little tiny restaurant in that area so I went to check it out. Order a burger meal and it was such crap the burger was like the size of a burger u would get in Mac Donald's which is outrages just cause my burger meal was 6 bucks without drinks. The service was so sucky she only gave me three packets of ketchup and I wanted more so she had some kind of attitude like I'm crazy which I really don't understand. No need for that negativity if your gonna serve people for a living at least do your job right. Other then that if u ever stay in comfort inn I suggest u drive like 20 min away to look for a better restaurant because this is how badly I felt about this place ..

Great place to go for some comfort food. Also a plus that they have breakfast all day the gravy biscuits are great as well as the hash browns with the works. I've had just about everything on the menu and everything is tasty and all of the employees are friendly. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. They are open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays if you need a late night meal. :)

We stayed at the Comfort Inn at Burkeville, VA.  There are no other restaurants close by so we walked over to the Hillside.  It is traditional southern style diner place-a buffet, breakfast all day, bbq, etc.  

I ordered french toast for dinner, how can I not?  It was tasty with a hint of cinnamon and a sprinkling of powdered sugar.  The prices are cheap and the owner was entertaining.  A very nice man who seems to really enjoy his job.  

Also, if you are from out of state, Virginia has no state ban on smoking and this place allows smoking.  We ordered take-out thankfully.  On the up side-the hotel is completely smoke-free.
