This place used to be the Place to go dancing on the weekends, But it has change ALOT! I was visiting Saint marys this weekend with some friends and decided to stop at the Hoot, (Friday Night) the Waitress was a Total Bi%&! She was so rude! and unprofessional! First she ignore us a couple of times when we tried to order drinks, Ofcourse she was taking the orders of the Males around us first.... them when I asked if she can take our order she said "WHAT... What do you want?" and kept mumbling things to us grrr, She was just Disgusting! I told the owner and I hope she did something about it, even after this bad experience I decided to go again Sat and we had a better service (someone else) and better experience. People like this Girl shouldn't work with the public, or at least get some education on how to treat customers first....

The drinks and dancing are fine if that's what you're into. Definitely the last bar stop of the night - you don't want to visit this place unless you've had a few drinks to loosen you up! I'd say the general rules are: If  you're 25 or under, don't enter before midnight. If you're 40 or over, probably don't enter at all.

Hootinanny is one of two big centers of vibrant nightlife across the street from one another in greater metropolitan St. Marys, and this is definitely the one for you if you find yourself in town to shake it on the dance floor. Elk County's finest CD spinners were dropping some phat beats, and the place was a madhouse on a Friday night. Props to the bartenders for keeping everyone's hands cool. If all the bumpin' & grindin' isn't your thing, they have a comfortable good-sized deck out back with tables and chairs-a-plenty that not too many people were taking advantage of. Fools! You have super-fresh, icy cold Straub... put your feet up!
