    Cheap Drinks + Friendly Patrons
Pool table + Tons of Televisions

We didn't see any Tigers in the parking lot so we decided to stop in for a quick drink on the way to Big Bear. The bartendress couldn't have been any nicer. She made a favorite drink of hers for me that was delicious. Thankfully I was not alone here, as when my friend went to the bathroom one of the locals kept making jokes about his hotel room, and told his buddy that I was his niece who was visiting. Friendly, inappropriate? Eh, the guys seemed to be having fun, and were a little too welcoming. Clearly they like "playing" with visitors.

The crowd seemed to be local mid to late 50's + some workers who had just come off of a shift who looked like they had been working really hard. Pool table, lots of televisions, apparently this is the sports bar to be at in town.

Date Rating: 1 (if your date is cute she is going to get mauled, don't take her here)
Pick up Scale: 10 (everyone is VERY friendly and more than willing to have a conversation)

Strong Suggestion: Don't come here hungry... they only have popcorn and do not serve food.

Having seen this place every timeI drive into town,I decided to stop one day and check it out.It was still pretty early, but there were already some people waiting to be served. My friend and Idecided to get a room nearby and head back to the bar. We both work night shift and just wanted to get off post for a while. We had quite a few drinks and were surprised how low our tabs were compared to other times we've stopped at any local bar in this area.
the staff was very friendly and so were the locals. they were all in their late 40's early 50's, but very nice indeed. we shot some poll and kept drinking away. there was still plenty of daylight left and were there long enough that the bartenders actually switched shifts. ha ha!
the highlight of the day was when some young guy runs in and looks like he's been running for miles. he was shirtless and dripping in sweat. he looked terrified as if someone had been chasing him down the street. when they told him he had to put his shirt on he mentioned that we shouldn't go outside. "there's a giant tiger chasing me don't go outside!don't go outside!" we all looked at each other, and being barstow, we figured he was tripping(methhead). after they calmed him down and he put his shirt on, they gave him some water. he continued to tell us that he was running through the sprinklers playing with a little girl and she became a tiger. he had been running all over trying to escape her. after about 15 minutes they kicked him out. poor guy, he didn't want to go outside! haha! we laughed for a while and then felt concerned. that lasted til they poured my next drink. about half an hour later, i saw what i called the "gladiator" tranny. lol! had the gold gladiator sandals and all. i see this guy around barstow quite often and he is always wearing those sandals.
back to the bar: very friendly staff, great priced drinks, and good people. i will definitely come back a few times before i leave this place.

everyone, watch out for those damn tigers!!!!

This place ties mollies for second when it comes to Barstow Bars.  They serve beers on tap in mason jars which is pretty cool, though I've yet to see any attractive ladies there.

While driving the long and lonesome highway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, there are few bastions of strength protecting you from the summer heat. Never would I have imagined Barstow to be such a place, but Hooz proved me wrong.

    Yes, I'm a fan. Here's why:

    1) friendly staff--two sisters were tending bar with a quickness
    2) friendly locals--plenty of regulars who all know each other and welcomed me right in
    3) cheaper drinks than all the over priced bars in L.A. and Las Vegas
    4) two ass-kicking bands (Barstool Saints and Elvis Goes Hoggin')
    5) a shuttle that will pick you up and take you home! Seriously.
    6) They have karaoke on certain nights as well, just not sure which--I thought someone told me Friday, but I was there on Friday and it was live music.

While I don't expect I'll be making regular pit stops in the desert, when the time comes I know which watering hole I'll bring my horse to drink.

We were staying in Barstow for the night and looking for a bar to go to.  There were no reviews online so we randomly chose this place, and it was really nice!  The bar staff and clients are all very friendly and the drinks are good and cheap. We will definitely come back the next time we're in town.
