Doin it the right way in Sackets! Hands down the best place in the area to eat and drink if you care at all about supporting the local farms and food movement. Oh yea, absolutely delicious! You want delicious scratch cooking, this is your only option. You want a great beer selection...ditto.

Came in with my boyfriend on a lark on a Wednesday afternoon and was elated to see the Wednesday $2 off draft beers special. Best special I've ever seen. The food was also fantastic- we both got orders of fries and the truffle fries are outstanding. The vibe is laid back and friendly- but also has a trendiness that reminds me of my neighborhood in NYC. Will be back!

While in Watertown for Thanksgiving with family, my hubs and I went here the night before Turkey Day on a date night.  It was much smaller than we expected, but immediately loved the vibe.  Sadie the bartender/server was all smiles, extremely friendly and helpful with the impressive drink and food selections.  The playlist was fantastic; I think my fave non-food part of the experience was the music.

Everything on the menu sounded appetizing and I had a hard time choosing, but when the server said "we're kind of known for our burgers,"  I decided to go with the Blue Boy, which was amazing.  It is easily one of the top three burgers I have ever eaten.  The bleu cheese was superb, the bacon cooked perfectly, and my burger came out exactly the way I asked for it and still dripping with juices.

I'm rarely in the Sackets area anymore, but the next time I'm even remotely close, I will definitely be visiting The Hops Spot again!

This place has a lot of potential. The food is exceptional...when it's available. Same with the beers. They offer a large food menu and beer list, but every time we've been there they're out of quite a few important things (ie pulled pork, steak frites, cheese curds, seasonal beers, etc). I can understand if they run out of a few things on an exceptionally busy day, but we've been there on slower days and still have a hard time ordering.
Also, the service can be lackluster. Forgetting our order specifications, empty water glasses, and poor menu knowledge are just a few things we experienced during our lunch yesterday. It wasn't busy; we were one of only two other tables.
One thing I can count on during the summer is the awesome patio. But you'll have to go inside and order your beer/food from the counter, don't be fooled into thinking you'll get service out there.
If you can catch the Hops Spot on a good day, (if you can figure out when they're open even), it might be worth it.

Well, where do I start.  First off- for being a place that sells "BEER" they were out of every kind under the moon.  The waiter was rude, and not friendly.  We went during the Can-Am fest and met with a few other friends.  There were two toddler age kids in our group of people, and needless to say they do not have a kid menu.  Thats understandable due to it being a place to buy unique beers.  We sat outside to watch the parade- ordered our food and asked for sides of pears for both kids since they had nothing else the children would eat.  Waiter said it shouldn't be a problem- then returned 30 minutes later with our food and THEN decided to tell us they refused to give the kids pears because they are "all portioned out".  So needless to say, we had two cranky, hungry kids and fuming parents.  Had they mention this ahead of time, say BEFORE bringing our food out, we wouldn't have ordered.   Not only that, but the absolute lack of care of customers because we were a group of 6 adults (no spiltting the check by the way, even after he said it would be fine, and the "included gratuitiy") the waiter didn't give you know what.

WIth that said- I will NEVER go back to that place and give them any more money.  Sad because it actually has potential to be a nice place.

It was busy, so we actually got served by 3 different people and they were all great.  Great conversation, great beer selection, great bottle list, knowledgeable staff.  We stopped in for one beer but ended up staying a long time because we were just really enjoying it.

Pretty much the best (and really only) place to nerd out about beer here (where you can actually drink it too).  The closest to a negative I can come up with is that it's too far from my house.  This place would hold its own even in a bigger city.

    Thanks for the beer!

Still in love with this place.  I've been here more time than I can count now and I have not once been disappointed by the beer, the food, or the service.  Not only has The Hops Spot added multi-course beer dinners to their repertoire, but they've installed 26 taps to provide customers with a delicious selection of freshly poured brews from around the world.  Love the atmosphere; tables are stocked with beer magazines to flip through and a very detailed menu that elaborates on what is in your beer.  When I go to drink here I feel like I'm not only enjoying my drink, but actually getting educated about beer.  If you haven't been here yet you must be clinically insane.

Place is absolutely fantastic. Amazing food, beer selection that you won't find anywhere else in the area, and always a great crowd on the weekends.

The Hops Spot is arguably the best choice for locally sourced and organic dining in the Lake Ontario - 1000 Islands Region.  The fact that it is located in charming Sackets Harbor only adds to its appeal.  The changing menu is mostly comprised of healthy(er) take on comfort / pub foods.  The food is consistently good, often interesting, and rarely greasy or heavy like most pub food.  Wash it all down with their excellent selection of beers.  The staff and owner are as friendly as it gets in the hospitality industry.  This and its sister restaurant, "The Boathouse" (located next door) are our favorite spots in the region.

I stopped by a recent Friday night and happened upon live music and beer tasting!!!!  $25 to try 10 different beers is amazing!  But I was hungry!  So I got the Philly Cheese Steak and I have to say: Sooo Good!!!  My friend got the Sackets Joe (I think that's what it's called) and between the two of us a chili poutine.  The food is good.  It's rare that I can find good cheese steak outside of the Philly area; and even though many claim they have "Philly cheese steak" the Hops Spot came pretty darn close!!  We also got a few beers too: Spaten Ocktoberfest, La Fin du Monde, Maudite, and repeat in various patterns for the rest of the night.
We came back two days later (only because we were already committed the next night) for the Philly Cheese Steak times 2!  Yumm...

A couple visits in Sackets Harbor, enjoyed the buttermilk chicken, fries, coleslaw, & Italian sausage.  Good chicken & fries, vinegar-y slaw-not my taste.  Italian was good, beer mustard not to either of our taste.  Love the Italian sodas, especially the coconut!

Great patio out front for people watching, dining inside small, but nice decor.  Cool concept place!

Great wide variety of micro brews in bottle form and i think 5 or 6 good ones on tap. I got to check out the beer list and probably saw 10 on there I had actually heard of which is always good news. If i was in town for longer id spend more time here but unfortunately i tried 2 beers on draught and relaxed on the patio.

Food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled really good especially the fish fry. Would come back like i said but wont have the time while im in town. Cheers Hops Spot

A great place to stop during a stroll around Sackets or just roll in for great drinks and food. Hops has a fun, eclectic menu that will have something that appeals to everyone. You won't have to be overly adventurous, but if your idea of a meal is McNuggets or McRibs then this isn't for you. The food is fresh and creative, made to order and served hot. The draft and craft beers are nice and cold and hit the spot on a warm day.

The prices are not inexpensive, moderate - but the food and drinks are clearly worth the stop.

Seating is wrought iron tables and chairs under umbrellas on the patio and a few tables inside. While our wives were browsing stores, the guys came in to sit in the shade and have a drink while we waited. If you are a people watcher then this is the outdoor place to be.

    Definitely a repeat for us.

Great beer selection, cute location, food was mehhhh! Nothing comes with sides, and the food isn't worth the price. This place is new and seemed semi-unorganized, but the staff was friendly and helpful.

Fantastic beer selection. The owner is very well versed in the craft beer world and does not over charge for the imports or local crafts. I'd recommend this to anyone who can appreciate good beer.

Nice place. Bartenders are great. You can sit out back on the dock on the lake. Really nice in the summer time.

The BEST DAMN CHEESTEAK I'VE EVER HAD!!!  Karen, there really is one, moved up here from NJ after an eminent domain debacle.  And thank goodness for that, I'm not kidding.  Sititng outside, muching on a huge, meatty, cheesy blessing of a sandwich, drinking a beer, I could have just plotzed right then and there.  Plus they have ice cream!
I'm kicking myself for not going there 3 times a day when I was there.
