We stopped in for lunch after reading good reviews on Yelp and we were not disappointed. We came in between the lunch and dinner crowd so we nearly had the whole place to ourselves.
I had the Horn Burger which was a half pound of fresh beef on a ciabatta bun topped with cheese, bacon and fresh avocado accompanied with roasted chili aioli (GREAT for dipping the fries). For $12 I got this, a starter salad and fries. A lot of food for the money.
The salad was delicious....it was one of those where you can tell by the look and the way the greens crunch in your mouth that everything was super fresh. They also have sushi on the menu and some Mediterranean flavored dishes so there is some variety to choose from.
The huge windows let in lots of natural light. That plus the Western décor, not to mention Johnny Cash piping into the dining room made for a very enjoyable atmosphere
They have a nice selection of wine and craft beers and there are sofas with board games where you can relax with a glass of wine while playing wine-ology or trivial pursuit. They also have a very nice deck which will be awesome when the weather cools down to take in a sunset and a glass of red.
I highly recommend if you're in the area.
Have begun to stop in Camp Verde on way to and from PHX-Munds, to get food because there is nothing to eat at Munds Park. Ate at Valley View restaurant once and it was surprisingly decent - but they closed down. We found that out and walked across the street to this place, which sounded like a dive bar that might have burgers or something. Wasn't real thrilled, but we were hungry and didn't want McDonalds.
Holy Cow, were we shocked. The owners spent WAY too much money to make this place look presentable, as it seemed more fitting in Phoenix-Scottsdale. Anyway, it was very nice inside, and we sat on their patio and it was a really nice day. The food was much fancier than the name of the place suggests. I thought the food was decent, my wife really liked it. It certainly is worth eating there again. For Camp Verde, it is probably a 5 star, but i don't give 5 stars unless I am blown off the planet by the food, and that rarely happens.
If you are traveling between Flagstaff and Phoenix, this place is worth making a stop. In fact, I would suggest skipping anything you find in Flagstaff and coming here instead.
Great owner-operated establishment - in fact, the whole family is in on the running of the place. Â The food was fresh and sophisticated, the service professional and friendly. Â I have nothing but great things to write about the place! As far as I am concerned, the only place to eat in the area.
The only reason they didn't get the 5th star, I just felt their pours on their wines (which, by the way, they had a very nice selection by the glass), was a wee bit short. Â They also had a great selection of beers.
If I am ever back through the area, this is where I will eat.
My wife and I arrived at the peak of the dinner hour to a full restaurant. The owner greeted us, said he would have a table for us in 5 to 10 minutes and invited us to enjoy their art gallery next door. We had scarcely walked into the gallery when he arrived with a glasses of water for us. Now that's service! By the time we finished looking around for a few minutes he was back and seated us at a comfortable table. The co-owner turned out to be our wait person and while not totally familiar with the wine list was able to quickly connect us with another waitress who was knowledgeable and offered a small taste of a selection to see if that's what we were looking for. My wife ordered the grilled salmon which was served with crispy spinach and a puck of grilled pistachio ginger risotto, drizzled with beurre blanc sauce.all of which were to die for. I ordered the Lahmacun, their specialty, a flavorful blend of Mediterranean spiced lamb, tomato puree, feta cheese, lettuce, cabbage and garlic cream sauce rolled in a Turkish lavosh bread and oven roasted. With a glass of petite syrah this was perfect. We both enjoyed a side salad with a wonderful cabernet based dressing and finished off the meal with pecan pie, a chocolate torte with a couple of large cups of coffee. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a good resturant in this small town. With a week in the area, we'll be back to sample other selections from their interesting and varied menu.
Review Source:I stayed in Camp Verde for 2 nights while traveling to Sedona during the day, and both nights I went to The Horn. My mom and I loved it SO much! The pretzel/cheese appetizer was delicious, as well as the pasta, pizza, and local AZ beers they had.
It has a very cool atmosphere and if I'm ever near Camp Verde again, I'll definitely return!
Great location as for food terrible and other than wine selection this place is full of itself. They showcase native American artifacts they know nothing about other than what a piece of paper says its really dissapointing and discouraging seeing the disrespect and just plain ignorance the food is almost all recipies off of http://recipies.com and cooked poorly I can do nothing but shake my head in dissapointment. Please spend your money elcewhere and support the local indigenous culture by buying from the tribe directly or from a local artist themselves.
Review Source:I am so excited to find quality food in a restaurant in Camp Verde. Â Now we can eat out close to home. Â Since I was there for lunch, Â I haven't even gotten to the beer and wine yet. I realize it's a wine and beer place, but I am also excited about the food. Â I look forward to an expanded menu when business warrants it.
Review Source:So glad to see a place like this in Camp Verde! Great diverse selection of beers on tap, cool to see some local ones. My wife stuck to the wine menu, and I don't think I her drink the same wine twice in the two nights we visited. The food was just right for us, a beer tray with nice salty snacks and raspberry torte that was really rich and with fresh fruit. It seems like they have live music every weekend, but the location is big and there are places to sit and enjoy the food and drink without being blasted out by the band. We'll be back again soon.
Review Source:The poshest place in Camp Verde by far. This upscale beer and wine bar has shown a real effort for bringing in local and out of town musical talent. Even Bruce Hornsby dropped by to sign the piano one afternoon.
Gourmet beer including my old favorite A-1 from Nimbus and local and international wines starting around $5. Lately they have been promoting some free wine tastings that I haven't had the pleasure of joining but plan to soon.
