What a kewl place! Â We were there for a birthday party and had an absolute blast. Â Having a well just for walk-up at the guests at the bar helped getting a drink quickly. Â The old school highballs with the old school ice cubes were a nice touch, but eventually got on my nerves as they got in the way of my beverage.
Review Source:Although this place is closed on Mondays, the owner was available and let us in after seeing my friend and I peer in the window. Both my friend and I love retro so we loved looking around this shop and, of course, we couldn't get out of there without making a purchase. Â We bought a cool retro desk chair that swivels, an unusual shaped orange vase, and a turquoise blue coffee pot for my retro coffee pot collection. The owner was so nice to let us in on her day off and was very helpful letting us know some of the other unusual shops that would be open on a Monday and also letting us know where to go eat and have a drink.
Review Source:WOW! Was I lucky enough stumble across this mid-century modern mecca in San Angelo, TX!
I was in town for business and had a little extra time before heading out of town. I had seen a number of antique shops after driving through town, so decided to check them out. I walked into one and asked about mid-century/retro goods. The woman working at the shop referred me to her daughter's place next door, Fifi's. Fifi herself was out of town and the shop was closed, but her mother offered to open up the shop and show me around! Oh thank you, thank you! You made my day!
Fifi's was AMAZING! The store houses a HUGE selection of retro furniture, accessories, and even clothing! I was told that the ambiance is great when the store is actually open, playing 50's music and showing old 50's sitcoms on the retro televisions (just like my grandmother used to have...). I purchased two lamps, which mom happily boxed up for me (safe for the plane ride home). And the prices are great...so much cheaper than you'll find anywhere in Austin.
I wish I could visit Fifi's every week. If you're ever in San Angelo, you MUST check it out! Luckily, they post their merchandise online and hold items, so I anticipate a trip to San Angelo in the future... =)
