Hunter's Head Tavern

This place is fantastic. Kind of a far drive from the D.C. area but well worth it. Really cool old building. Great bread! Try the chicken pot pie or the beef stew. Great service as well!

Stopped in for dinner as we hadn't been by in a while. Opted to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Good beer on tap, fish and chips were good, chef's special of glazed salmon was overdone and generally just kind of "meh". Not very reminiscent of our past experiences there. The bigger disappointment were the chainsmoking patrons at the tables next to us. We never saw a sign signaling that this was a smoking area and the lovely wafting of smoke over our meal was enough of a turn off that we won't be back any time soon.

Recently stopped with some out of town guests on our way back from D.C. we were seated outside under the stars. The food is "pub food" but my goodness it is good. I love this place! Wish they were closer to us and we would be there every night!
