Great place to have a hotdog and an ice cream. Â When you're in the deep woods, going to or from a lake, what is better than that. Â I got a Chicago dog and was impressed by the inclusion of all the components, even the poppy seed bun. Â Etta got a butter burger and was impressed by both. Â The picnic tables are shaded by tall trees.
Review Source:Love this place!! Â Every year my family and I vacation in Boulder Junction. This has been our "go to" place for ice cream. I'm having trouble remembering the brand they use, Blue Bell or something? I know I can't find it here in Ohio boo hoo. The coconut chip is to die for! Now instead of just getting cones when we pass by, we stop and order our many favorites and they package them up for us to take to go. They put them in extra large soda cups. Perfect for taking back to the cabin and sharing! Will see you this summer Ice Shanty!
Review Source:If you blink, you might miss this place and all it has to offer. And during "the season" if you are up in Arbor Vitae land, you hafta stop here. The Ice Shanty offers: sandwich and burger meals, great ice cream, and if you want to work a couple calories off you can play a round of miniature golf afterward. They even sell decent quality T shirts.
No kidding: the hot dogs come with steamed buns and all the fix-ins', be sure to get their onion rings (they are delicate, sweet, and not greasy). Ice cream options provide wonderful flavors: it is available in regular, frozen yogurt, and fat free/sugar free choices, as well and the prices are fair. They have a nice area to just sit back and look up at the pines and blue sky. So, stop in and get in line; you won't be sorry.
