Iron Horse Restaurant & Lounge

We are not regulars either, but our service was pretty decent on our visit (Gwen, sp? is an excellent waitress) btw.   After driving past cows all day other members of the family craved steak.  Beef, it's what's for dinner and all that.  We stopped at a gas station and asked where a good one could be found in Walsenburg and we were directed here.

Upon arrival we were seated quickly.  Respectively, we ate steak salad, t-bone, and a cajun chicken salad (moi).  All of the food was enjoyed heartily.  We had soup to start, tomato was great and bacon-ham-bean was also tasty.  I'd say the garlic bread, and lemonade to drink were just alright.  But the salads, main courses, and potato were superb.  And that coconut cream pie, don't get me started mouth-gasm.  Desserts and portions are large, consider splitting if your dining party is amenable.  Great place to eat when you are driving on 160.

The food was okay and the prices reasonable, but the service was HORRIBLE. We waited by the hostess station for ten minutes, waited another ten for our drink orders (they give you a 12 ounce glass for pop, filled with ice and charge for refills) and the waiter never once came over to ask how our food was. This was made even worse by the fact that he and the other waitress were talking to all the other tables. Maybe if you are a regular you get decent service.
