The Iron Skillet

If youre in the area, this is a good choice. The food and service exceeded expectations.

Another good diner find in a small Michigan town. Six of us stopped by for lunch on our way "up north" for a ski trip. The diner has several large tables to accommodate the large group.
Some of my group had breakfast while others had lunch. All the food was well prepared and the staff was friendly.

As far as finding random diners on a road trip, this is the tops. Fantastic service, cute highway-side small diner feel, and awesome food. Best mozzarella sticks outside of Wisconsin, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, and my carnivore friends loved their biscuits and gravy. The hard part was staying awake for the drive home! Also near Shanty Creek, so if you're skiing in the area, this is a must-try. And yes, they do have actual iron skillets some of their dishes are served out of--true to their name!
