Ivy Grove Cafe

After witnessing the debacle that the main st. construction was wreaking on local businesses, my wife and I decided to patronize one of the few that we could actually reach.

The Ivy Grove cafe looks like you would expect a small town cafe to look like - cute and inviting. But, writing this review was about as much fun as my experience there.

After walking in, we sat down and were curtly greeted by our server. After announcing the special she was surprised that we had the temerity to ask for a menu.

After a brief look at the menu, we decided to get the special. Our plates came quickly. It was a basic roast beef plate with potatoes and corn. The food was good solid diner fare and my stomach appreciated it.

We both had coffee, but getting creamer for my wife took a bit of effort.

After we were done our plates were whisked away and the open sign was turned off.

The owner (not our server) came up to us and politely offered some pie, but we had a long drive and were just ready to go.

The check was confusing as they don't give them to you, they just hold them at the counter.

I assume this place is better when you get a different server so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.
