In a funky former dry cleaner's building, this gem of a restaurant is delightful. Â Innovative, but not odd, the food was top notch. Â Our funny & charming waiter was so excited about the offerings that it was contagious. Â The butternut squash/risotto gratin, wow. Â Â And it is a BYOB, which really helps the pocketbook. Â A truly special place in this tiny-but-charming college town.
Review Source:The food, the presentation, the service, all so good. If you live anywhere within an hour or two of sewanee, you have to come and try it. The food was by far the best I've ever had within a 100 (and probably more) miles of sewanee. It wasn't just that the food was excellent, but it was also fun. Yes, it did start with a spoon full of "brown stuff" (which by the way turned out to be really good mashed chickpeas with lime and onions - i think) accompanied by the cheesy "this is to awaken your palette" line but it only got better from there. The sorbet in between the first courses was excellent, the braised beef was so tasty and just falling off the bone, and the chocolate soup beats most of the desserts i've had in my life.
