  Jack and George's has great food, and it's probably the best bar food in Altoona.  That being said, it's also one of the most expensive bar/eateries in Altoona, especially if you order their wings.  The wing sauce is absolutely the best, but at $10/dozen, it's almost not worth it.  If you are looking for great food and price is not an issue, I'd highly recommend this place.  If you're looking for great wings at a reasonable price, though, there are plenty of other places in the area.

  Don't miss the homemade ranch dressing at this little dive. We totally love it. The grilled chicken salad is my usual and is the best I've had anywhere, but my family also likes the little cheesesteaks, beef and chicken.
  
  The atmosphere is clean and not too quiet or too loud. Wood walls and sports memorabilia are the decor.
  
  Perfect for a six p.m. Or late dinner.

  Me and my family often go here when we are in Altoona.  The atmosphere is great and it is family oriented despite the fact that the front half is a bar.  The food is prepared fresh and the portions are generous.  I go for the wings which are always crisp and the homemade dressing that comes with them is excellent.  My wife get the grilled chicken salad and usually has to share it with my daughter its huge.  Its a little hard to find if you are not from the area and looks unassuming if you do not know what it is.  Also a great place to watch sports if you are a Pittsburgh fan.

  A little gem! Very nice inside and the food is great.  We thought the prices at lunch were incredible.  Steak sandwiches get 5 stars.  Give them a try!

  Nothing fancy but the best bar food around.  The baked Italian is huge.  They also make their own cheese sticks, onion rings & other appetizers.  Not pre-made but Home-made. They are the best. Huge portions.  Very friendly place   And you cant beat the Hot Roast Beef sandwich on Wednesdays!!
