We were extremely excited to experience another burger joint when we saw Jack's along the side of the road. We had no idea what to order - the menu was very simple and clear - so we went with the Big Jack [I mean, after all, it's named after the chain so it's got to be good, right?] The burger was nothing at all special - it could have been Burger King, it tasted just the same. It was the fries that did it.
They were perfect. A beautiful golden crinkly crisp with a light and fluffy squish of potato-ey yummm in the center. Being a hater of all seasoned fries, I really shouldn't like them at all - but this is different. The seasoning is light - barely noticeable but the shining star at the same time. It's a salty almost cheesy goodness that makes you want to shed a tear when you realize the last one is making its way down your esophagus.
Jacks, your burgers are meh, but the fries get a standing ovation.
