Okay, like Rob F., I really enjoyed Jake's Place; though, my culinary experience was limited to Jake's Shakes ... and I did managed to mooch one beer-battered onion ring from my brother.

This was my first time to the Bear Lake area, though we visited there with several who had much experience.  They said Jakes was the place, and we were not disappointed by the shakes.  I did have the requisite raspberry, and it was definitely good.  Thick.  Creamy.  Blended with a vanilla base added a nice base and depth of flavor.  The smaller size is definitely sufficient ... though, I would probably still get a large.  [Yes, I'm a pig.]

The next day, I tried a chocolate shake with caramel.  It was also tasty.

A couple of quick complaints / comments.  First, I have no, direct comparative reference to the several other shake places in Garden City.  Second, the service was pleasant, but not always attentive - my salted caramel and chocolate shake came back first as a pineapple and chocolate shake.  While I appreciated the suggestion, it wasn't what I ordered.  The second iteration was a straight caramel and chocolate shake ... still not the salted caramel.  Third, they are very slow.  I get that craftspeople take more time, but it can be tediously slow.  Not much else to do while waiting outside at this busy intersection.

There are tons of places to choose from when eating in Garden City. Why not try Jake's Place? It's the newest eatery which opened in May of 2012. Instead of greasy burgers you can get fresh sandwiches made with bread from Old Grist Mill. There are pulled pork, beef brisket, roast beef, and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. They feature Week's family jam which you can simply have on a slice of bread. And of course they have a variety of berry shakes to choose from. Service is a little slow when it is busy but it's worth the wait.

Hands down the best raspberry shakes in bear lake!!! They actually use fresh raspberries from a local farm!  Delicious!
