We spent our afternoon driving from Jacksonville. Â Since we decided to spend the night in Chipley, we also needed to find a place to eat in town. Â We chose Javier's Mexican Grill. Â The service was excellent and speedy. Â We both had taco salads which were good, but we have had better. Â Since we are from Las Cruces, NM, the salsa was definitely milder than we are used to eating.
Review Source:I was greeted in a very welcoming and gracious manner. Javier's was not busy this Monday for lunch but it's a holiday for some lucky people.
The start of chips and salsa brought my very own pitcher of salsa- a nice spicy one at that. Â I ordered a chicken chimichanga with a side hard taco. I was so torn because the lunch menu looked great and I was so hungry! I chose the chimichanga lunch because that is how I usually judge a Mexican place. I wanted enchiladas but I'll make those at home tonight.
The chimichanga is the biggest I've ever seen! Hot, crunchy and good. I would have liked a sour cream sauce or con queso instead of the red sauce on chicken but that's personal preference. $5.25 for the chimichanga rice beans sour cream quacamole and lettuce/tomato.
Good value, good lunch! I'll be back next time I'm in Quincy!
