Jay's Deli is the best! Their sandwiches, hobos, & pizza are the best! Love the coffee too. Gotta love a place that still has Slush Puppies. On the rare occasion they mess up your order, but for the most part they are on point, & if you let them know there's a mistake, they always stand by it & correct it. I especially love how when the whole area lost power, they were running Christmas lights up & down the store with generators so people could still get essentials. They are really good to their customers. LOVE JAY'S!
Review Source:Good stuff here. Really good stuff. If you're around the area, I would definitely pick up a Italian combo sandwich. Also, if you're planning an easy brunch, get the breakfast pizza (egg, cheese, ham, bacon and delicious).
The hours are a little short, so be sure to look at their schedule!
I think Jay's Deli is a wonderful place for cold cuts, meats, sandwiches, and a wonderful eating area for breakfast and lunch. Â I appreciate high quality items and Jays fits the bill
My dad and I always came here for lunch and were always impressed. Â They even bring the food back to you while you wait in the back seating area (which is nice). Â They have a good stock of groceries and frozen items. Â
Nothing is organic or local, but the food is damn good and worth your time to visit if you are in the area. Â I don't think there is such a thing as organic lunch meat.. is there? Â It doesn't matter cause Jay's still rocks...
I am biased about Jay's Deli but there are two things I must have whenever I come back to NY to visit the in-laws:
1) Bagel, egg, bacon and cheese sandwich from Jay's. And it must be made by either Susan or Linda or it's no good. With Jay's regular coffee with cream and sugar.
2) Chicken cutlet sandwich on a roll, with mayo, lettuce, thinly sliced tomatoes, mustard, white american, and pickles. Cut in half. With a bag of either Wise potato chips or Munchos. Again... must be made either by Susan or Linda, or no thank you.
Of course, after having these two things, my risk of dying from clogged arteries increases by 500%. But it's worth it.
A trip to NY without these things is the equivalent to going to France and not eating a baguette or going to Maine and not having a lobster.
