Jerry's Foodland

My in-laws recently purchased a place in the "thumb" and while we were visiting we needed to run into town to pick up some odds and ends for dinner and breakfast. To be honest we were headed to Walmart, but my husband spotted this little gem and we decided to support a local market rather then the likes of Walmart. I am so glad we did! This store was spotless! The produce was fresh and they even have a salad/soup bar, I didn't try, but I will make a trip back for that. My husband loves chicken and they were offering an 8 piece bucket for $6.99! Also at the deli I ordered broasted potatoes and mac & cheese. All of which were really good. The breading on the chicken had a nice flavor, the mac and cheese was creamy and the potatoes nice and crisp. I also notice the prices to be really reasonable, not too much more then what you would expect to pay at Walmart. We bragged about how nice this place was, my in-laws went there too and agreed that they will be shopping there from now on. While at the register I was asked, paper or plastic! I know it's probably the normal, but I've lived in the city for many years now and I can't remember the last time I was asked that. I also need to mention the staff here couldn't be nicer, very friendly and eager to help.  An all around great experience.
