Aside from one strange and disturbing sign behind the bar, we had a great visit.
The staff was very friendly and quick to help. Prices were fair.
The sign written to the wait staff threatening to "shake" and/or "choke a ho" Â if they failed to clean properly was a very badly done joke (I guess they meant it as a joke). Seems very strange to put on the wall behind the bar, especially in plain view of everyone.
Had late lunch here today on the way to Cherokee, N.C. Â They don't open til 2p.m. in their off season which is now. Â Normally they open at noon in the summer. Â Definitely a local place. Â everyone knew each other and we were welcomed warmly but felt like we had a big "T" on our forehead for Tourist. Â we had the wings and we sat at the bar. Â They were out of 4 beers on tap that my husband tried to order and he finally settled for a bottled beer. Â It was Wed. and they said their beer wasn't coming in until Thursday. Â However Wednesday is Wing night so I don't know if that's such a good idea to run out. Â I loved the building. Â Very old and rustic. Â The bathrooms were clean. Â We sat at the bar. Â The female bartenders were friendly. Â The Wings were good...It was a lot of bar food. Â I can only speak for the wings. Â The sweet tea was good but a little too sweet for me. Â Would I stop by again?....m.m.m.m.m. maybe, maybe not.
Review Source:This was not a bad place just a little slow. I had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich. It had a nice flavor was hot and well presented. My wife had fish and chips which was average. The only problem was service. I had to remind them to bring silverware and condiments then it took awhile for the to get there during a time when they were not that busy.
