I've ventured here a few times in the past year just to switch things up. Â All the bad reviews on this place are true. Â The place is small and dirty. Â Bathrooms are dirty and feel like a sauna. Â Thursdays are crowded because it's lady's night, AKA "Trashy", $1 drink night. Â Go check this place out for shits and giggles but don't expect much. Â Also, beware the "double curb". Â This place is definitely not worth messing up your car door over.
Review Source:Im giving this place a little extra love because everyone else was so hard on it. Â No one else who reviewed it likes dive bars, obviously. Â One guy even complained there were not enough white people! News flash- you're in Yuma, rush limbaugh. Â I dug the atmosphere, bartenders were polite and the band was good. Â The patrons were thirty something. Only complaint, the band and DJ are way too loud. Turn the music down.
Review Source:So this bar is pretty rundown. restrooms are beyond dirty. Also a couple of notes from my time going here and why I don't go here anymore.
Bad:
-This place seems to be a magnet for people who stab others even though there is a bouncer at both entrances and they roam the interior.
- There is a cop usually right out front of the entrance or right around the corner.
-Drinks are kinda expensive and I have only met one good bartender there.
-Small bar overall. That's the only reason it seems to be packed.
-ATM has never worked or was out of cash every time.
Good:
-Tons of hoochie mama's and gangster chicks. Basically just chicks looking to get out of yuma some way, any way.
-They have booths which are actually kinda cool for your group if you can get them.
-Outdoor seating but not enough room so basically standing room only.
Wow. Â I haven't been to a place THIS dive-y in years. Â I stopped at this place on a Thursday night on my way to White Sox Spring Training in Glendale, Arizona (Phoenix).
First off, I was one of only 5 white people in the entire bar. Â The crowd is almost exclusively black or Latino. Â The music was a mix of Latin and hip-hop tunes.
The beer was cheap. Â The parking was free on the street nearby.
The girls here were REALLY trashy and ghetto-fied. Â Tattoos, tight dresses, and damn. Â I felt so dirty just being there. Â Ickkkkhhhhh!
I'm still laughing at this place a month after I went. Â An extra star for the entertaining aspect of my experience.
Anyway, it might be nice to bring a friend here as a cruel joke. Good luck!
"The coolest bar downtown" is Jimmie Dee's tag line. Â It's kind of sad that it is the best bar Yuma has to offer.
The only redeeming part of Jimmie Dee's was its 90's cover band, which rocked out pretty nicely to Everclear, Third Eye Blind, and Smash Mouth. Â 90's music is the new 80's music.
One thing that's odd about parking in the area is that there's a "double curb" outside. Â When our hero got out of the passenger side, took one step... and then another, he almost tripped over the half foot high second curb. Â In hindsight, it's probably nice for people who drive lifted trucks, which is about half the bar.
PROS:
- Free popcorn made behind the bar, with less grubby hands in it than an open popcorn machine.
CONS:
- $9 for 2 drinks in a shabby bar that's not even half full.
- Curbside parking only.
