Service might be a little slow from time to time but overall a great place to go w friends and get some good food and drinks

If you want good bar food for a reasonable price, go elsewhere. Jimmy's Pub seems like the kind of place you only go to because you have to. The food is mediocre at best, and overpriced ($8 for 8 mozzarella sticks served on a slice of lettuce? no thank you). If you're looking for a place to sit and watch a game, this might be the place for you, but if you're looking for good food go someplace else.

Jimmy's is still a good place to watch a game with friends.

I am warming up to the food.  This time I ordered the ham & cheese sandwich.  It is full of three different cheeses and a good amount of ham.

The service was slow and that is why it is still only three stars.

Now that I live within walking distance of Jimmy's Pub, I finally gave it a try. It's a nice casual place, and the inside is actually nicer than I thought it was going to be. And of course, lots of TVs!

Our waitress was really friendly, and put up with our indecisive orders the whole night. She came back quite often and everything got brought out really quickly. We ordered wings, which were pretty tasty, but for $8 we only got 6 wings... thought we'd get more. We also got a calzone that was OK- I've had better, I've had worse.

The drink prices here were surprisingly reasonable- $4.50 for a shot, $6 long island, and $5 Oberon... not too bad compared to some other places like this I've been recently.

Since we can walk here, I'm sure we'll be back for plenty of drinks and to enjoy some sports on TV. If my food is a little bit better in some way next time, I'll gladly up the rating. This place seems like a great hangout for friends and families, and is the type of place I like to go after a long day at work- close to home, low key, and decent drinks.

I may be rating them a bit higher than they deserve because of how convenient it is for me to be able to walk there. It's not word class food or anything and it is a little overpriced but the service has always been great and the drinks are awesome.

I love their martini menu and have slowly begun working my way through it. For food,  I stick with their salads or the nachos. Both a okay, nothing spectacular  but they will fill you up. The one thing food wise that I do have to give major props to is the sweet potato fries. I absolutely love them and this was the first place I had them. Just make sure they top them with the brown sugar or some of the effect is lost.

Other than that the place is really clean and it is a good place to catch the game or enjoy a drink before heading out somewhere else.

The 3-star "A-OK" sums Jimmy's right up. I like that it's generally low-key and clean. Everything else about it is just okay. The beer menu is decent and the food is all right, though a little overpriced for what it is and what you can get elsewhere.

If my boyfriend didn't live within walking distance, I probably wouldn't find myself here more than once in a blue moon. But since he does, it's an A-OK place to grab a casual bite or a drink when we're too lazy to venture farther.

Good french onion soup, fair priced drinks, but the table service could use a little help.  Both times I've been in to Jimmy's we were served the wrong food because the waitress thought we ordered something else.  We then had to wait for them to remake our food.

Disappointing yes, but not a deal breaker.  Their drinks are food and priced fair and food is really tasty.

Stop in if you're in the area but watch out for the East Lansing and Bath police that patrol the area like crazy!

Great place for a gathering with friends- good food, good beer, great service, inexpensive menu, tv's and- most importantly- Jimmy's is smoke free. What else could you want for casual night out? Try the Hawaiian pizza- its awesome.

My review is a little biased as I had a known acquaintance serve us (and she was excellent).  All of the food came out fairly fast, tasted pretty good for our party of four and the environment was very clean.  It seemed pretty slow for dinner time though, the whole place was just kind of spread out.. a few people at the bar, a few people on that side, a few people in this section, etc... kind of weird, wasn't totally slow, but definitely not busy.  Servers were just kind of standing around..
I need to go back and do a complete random visit for a second opinion.

I went there just the other night on monday instead of going to common ground.. What a mistake in more ways than one. After sitting , we had to go up the bar bar to see if there was a server who finally showed up.

Ordered drinks after the server wasnt sure which she actually had or not.

Then food, which seriously took forever, which I mean 35 minutes in a place that had five people at the bar and NO other tables. It was two pineapple chicken dinners and A salad. really 35 min
    ??

Just to have dry chicken ? It tasted as if it was made on time in the microwave and the waitress forgot about it for the next 30 minutes.

We had some friends also meeting us there when they got there to eat something we said we didnt want to camp out in tents ti wait all night for the food so we left.

Never recommend it or go there, unless you are having an all nighter with bad service and food.

Jimmys is a great place to just hang out.  Never seems to be to loud or crowded.  The whole place is non-smoking, which seems odd given its location in the middle of thousands of student apartments, but is nice for those non-smokers.  I smoke myself so this is a bit of a drag in the winter.  Keno, Pull tabs, some megatouch machines and a pool table are there for entertainment.  As far as the food I would say it is better than average bar food.

The new Jimmy's is a good solid joint. Props for the non-smoking, even if you like to go outside and puff with the "real smokers" now and again.
I am very nostalgic about L.A. places so I miss the charm of the old place and its location. But..
They still have the great American Fare with some unique twists and a good traditional burger and such to order off the menu. And Hey..They make a good French Fry too huh?
The staff seems to still be nice and attentive and and attractive. (Hot waitresses and bartenders may or may not matter to some) .
The new digs also seem to offer more space and opportunity for entertainment etc. Perhaps a better layout for a sports bar as far as seeing a TV. Sure you cant hit Holiday Lanes on foot after  an evening at Jimmy's but , go  shoot a round of golf at Hawk and hit Jimmy's after.
If you havent been there, order something that offers the chipolte spicy ranch. Good stuff.
I would definitely still recommend Going to Jimmy's pub for a night with friends, for any occasion

I heard this bar opened smokefree!  If this is true I give it 5 stars before I visit (which will be in a few days)!  Finally an option for non smokers and people with respiratory illnesses!   Now I can go to a bar and will be able to stay and watch an entire football or basketball game without my asthma kicking in!!!!!

The new location gets good marks. The prices and food are good. Still alot of local yocals present early on in the evening, but tolerable. Nice place to hang out for a casual beer.

Pretty small place, but they do have good burgers, and a friendly wait staff.
