John T Floore Country Store

This is by far and away my favorite music venue in the San Antonio area.  I've seen some great, great shows here and they are the way I like it, somewhat smaller (capacity maybe 500-700?), inside and great sound in a place with some heart and soul.  I admit, I've never seen one of the bigger shows outside, so can't report on that.  I've had the food there and it's OK, but I have never gone there only to eat.  Beer selection is not the greatest, but have always had good and friendly service there.  Whoever books the music sure knows that they're doing!  I became a lifelong fan of Bob Schneider after seeing him at Floore's for the first time.  They book more regional and national acts, mainly Americana and country/alt-country, honky tonk but they will surprise you with who they book, they take a few chances on new acts.  I've seen of course, Bob Schneider, Chris Knight, J.D. McPherson, Wayne Hancock, and all the opening bands for these groups.  This is part of what makes San Antonio home for me.
