Biscuits and gravy or pancakes are the best. Don't get sucked into going to one of the other places in town without a wait. June's gets the food out fast with great service

This cafe has the right stuff, the cook obviously knows what she's doing. Will be going back.

This can be a busy little place, depending on when you go.  They service breakfast til 11am, and you can get a half size breakfast, which might not be a bad idea since they're portions are pretty big.

The pancakes are huge pancake, just remember to add some protein.  Coffee is so-so, not exactly french roast.

Must say they have friendly service and it was fast though I sat at the counter.

    Just remember they're closed wednesdays

Before I get to my review, I feel I should mention that what my wife and I ordered was the special, but clearly not the specialty, of June's that day. It was unabashedly awful, but I think people may have more luck with the stuff that June's is known for, namely the breakfasts. So, read this as a cautionary tale against the specific items we ordered and not so much a reflection of the diner as a whole.

What we ordered was the fish and chips and the fish tacos. Both were largely fried affairs, and this is exactly where June's faltered. The fish in each of the meals was fried to death in oil that was way, way too hot. The result was a very hard, very burned tasting shell on the outside and dried out fish on the inside. Any semblance of cod was overwhelmed by that old oil flavor permeating the outside. The same thing applies to the hush puppies and the french fries. Everything was just so greasy and so overcooked that neither of us finished our meals.

The solution to these problems is simple: change the oil, lower the heat. If they did that, I think the food could have been decent. I could tell the fish was above average (at least before they fried it into oblivion) and the hush puppies had a nice spice palette going on. So maybe, maybe, it was on off day or a new cook or something. I don't know. I am willing to try June's again, but I will be avoiding the fried foods. I recommend you do the same.

    Hello,
We found this place thanks to Yelp : ) and it was good for breakfast.
The waitresses were very nice, but on Saturday morning (early in June) the service was very slow. The place was full, there was a line outside, and it seems they only had one waitress... not sure if it is always like that, or if they were shorthanded that day...

If that happens to you and nobody comes to greet you, ensure to write down your name in a list they have outside, right next to the door.

I understand this kind of stuff happens, but it would be nice if they put a note on top of the 'wait to be seated' sign, I am pretty sure some more people arrived and wrote their names on the list before ours, while we were inside the restaurant trying to get somebody' attention. : (

**their portions are very big. I was not very hungry and I liked the fact that they have smaller portions at a lower price.

Cute little place on US260. Last real establishment before you travel to either Show Low or Holbrook. Decent place to feed the hungries. Very limited hours so call or check before you "pop by". Fries are great, burgers are plain.
Best meal without question is breakfast. Limited seating.
Because there is literally no alternative close by, it has a lock on local and passer by business.
Interesting yard stick decor - you will have to visit to see what I mean. Bring one with you to have it hung.

I am an out of towner from LA. Driving through Heber on a Saturday morning, June's Diner was the only real restaurant for miles and miles. What a relief it was to find a great place! For a small town restaurant, June's was extremely busy, and the Spanish omelette I ordered was just great. I love finding good places to eat like this one, especially in remote locations. Extremely cozy atmosphere and very professional staff. I will make a point of stopping here again. If going from St Johns to Phoenix, the 260 beats the 60 hands down. It's just a prettier drive.

I've been going to June's for breakfast for years and it is always delicious. I usually get their Homemade Chili Omelette. It is epic! The place is very clean with nice wood paneling and a nice yard stick collection. I can't help but laugh at the comment about one waitress being nice and the other being a bitch. It is true that the older waitress seem really moody and snappy but I don't care. This place is great!

Great breakfast. The lunch was fair. One waitress was fantastic and fun to talk with. One was kind of a bitch.

I suggest you try it for breakfast at least.

Great place and great location nestled in the beautiful high country.  We had a really good breakfast today but also have had good sandwiches here.  We waited a short while on the sunny front porch.  The breakfast are hot and very well prepared.
