Kentucky Depot

Found this place in our 101 places to eat in KY book.  They offer a salad bar, buffet or combination of both for lunch.  The offerings on both were slim and I decided that it would be better to choose the daily special, chicken fried steak with two sides, real mashed potatoes, fried okra and corn bread cakes. Real gravy was served on the side.  My wife chose the catfish sandwich with an order of fries.  The portions were very generous and delicious.  It's not very often someone will serve real mashed potatoes and these were fixed just right, smooth and creamy with no lumps.  The fish had a light breading and was also delicious.  We topped it all off with a piece of homemade chocolate pie and brown sugar pie which were just out of this world.
