Stumbled upon this while driving along the forest road one late morning.  The hanging roadside menu promising Texas brisket, pulled pork and fried Oreos sold us -- we four city-folk were about to find out what Dingman's Ferry had to offer.

We entered and were greeted by a waitress, who we later discovered is actually the owner's daughter, and were seated in a booth with a view of the lake.  The atmosphere is what you'd likely expect from a country roadside eatery -- homey, a bit worn, decorated with kitschy porcine-characters and mismatched seats, but clean as a whistle.  Despite it's ordinary decor, the food was anything but.

Jolly, friendly and passionate, you can tell this man cares about the quality of his BBQ and finds joy in sharing his passion with his customers.  Two of us ordered the brisket, mine on Texas toast -- moist, flavorful and complemented perfectly with the thick, crispy, buttery toast -- an exceptional plate. We also had the pulled pork sandwich, which we fully enjoyed once Kevin brought us his newest BBQ sauce creation.

We did however have a vegetarian in our party, but they made every effort to accommodate to her dietary restrictions; pancakes with every option you can imagine -- fresh berries, walnuts, pecans, chocolate chips.  He even took to playfully walking her into the kitchen to get final approval.

We were just about to ask for the check when he came out to remind us of what sold us in the first place: fried Oreos.  Of course, we had to stick around.  Two funnel cake-like batter encased the cookie, which was now like a warm cake, topped with vanilla ice cream and whip cream.  Food coma ensued.

Nothing delights me more than having my expectations exceeded and this little gem in the Poconos did just that.

A must try if you are looking for great BBQ. They have it all - pulled pork, ribs, brisket, sausage, turkey, and whole chickens - all smoked right out in front.

all comes w/ a variety of sides and it's a BYOB as well.

Quality, quantity, price, and service that can't be beat - all under one roof!

They cooked at a Hemlock Farms event in October.  The BBQ pork sandwich was great.  I will stop in the restaurant to try other food.  You need to go try it  you will love it.
