I'm Jan and can confirm that the King Arthur Suites is indeed in business. Â My family recently stayed there and fully enjoyed our accomodations. Â We were looking for something a little bit different from the run-of-the-mill hotel and King Arthur certainly delivered. Â We stayed in the largest suite which provided the room and privacy we requested. Â The beds were quite comfy and while we did not use it, the kitchen was well stocked with what anyone would need. Â As for the service, Kyle met us promptly when we arrived and showed us to our room. Â He also contacted us the next day to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Â Since this was not your typical hotel, I did feel the need to not assume anything and advised Kyle that we did need maid service. Â We also requested extra cream for the coffee which was provided. Â
Overall, a very nice stay and a really good value. Â My only advice to the ownership is to make sure their sign can be seen from both directions on the street. Â I hope the next time we are there, the restaurants below the Suites will be operating.
I stayed in the suites and while they upgraded me to a better room than I reserved, I was very surprised by how unsecure the building is. When I called the number that was included with my keys, so I could ask whether the front door got locked at night, there was no answer. As far as I can tell, they don't lock the door and you enter through the empty storefront - where, I might add, they left my key out in the open for me to pick up.
Oswego's a small town and all, but that's way beyond my level of comfort.
The room was clean, and quite large, but given the lack of service and security I wouldn't stay here again.
This place sounds regal and classy. Â But it is really a disgusting place. Â We stayed there in 2008 and it was nice enough and so we decided to go back again this year. Â The shower curtain is dirty and moldy, the carpet has not been cleaned in years. Â The coffee pot had an old coffee bag from who knows when. Â The clerk/hostess was nice though. Â We feel sorry for this place. Â The entire city is going south and I think the businesses in the area just do not have enough clients to support them.
Review Source:This is Oswego's answer to Fine Dining, so it's glorified bar food served in a fancyish atmosphere. Â However, the food sucks a la Ground Round and there is no presentation. Â
Soooo. the food's kinda gross, but the house-brewed beer is excellent. Â If I have to eat in Oswego again, I'd return because what choice is there really????
