I'm giving this place five stars because the falafel are just that damn good, and so are the onion rings and fried zucchini. Â That's all I've eaten there, but it's more than enough to keep me coming back.
Great service, too. Â Very friendly and obviously owner-operated.
Update: Â I love this place.
There are a few king falafels around this area: Santa Maria, Orcutt, and Guadalupe. King Falafel in Guadalupe is by far the best out of the three. the fries are to die for, the burgers are fresh and delicious, the variety of food is great (flafels, sandwhiches, salads, nachos, hotdogs, anything you can think of) the workers--which are also the owners--are so sweet, and the prices are good. Delicious!
Review Source:Their turkey sandwich with avocado was delicious and so huge that they had to split it in two! And the BBQ rib sandwich is to die for. Actually, there's not a sandwich on the menu I didn't enjoy... even the vegetarian one was quite good! I especially love the abundance of  hot, fresh fries at the bottom of the bag. Mmmm...
Review Source:I write this review under the influence of half a bottle of red wine, a few coronas (in which order I forgot), but mostly swayed by an intense craving for a falafel sandwhich.
It was 6 months ago, after a good friend's wedding, that the one cab in Santa Maria picked us up and we ask of course "So what's good around here". It was just after 11:00 and it probably didn't sound that coherent, but our cabbie got the point.
He takes us to King Falafel, or should I say the gateway to heaven. I don't remember what the place looks like, I don't remember what anything costs, but I do remember the most delicious falafel sandwhich and fried zucchini I've had in my short time on this planet.
And the best part? my buddy didn't even eat his sandwhich! (I think he forgot about it...and by forgot I mean he probably passed out) So I had a second one in the morning, and sober falafel was just as great as tipsy falafel.
I don't ever intend on being in Santa Maria again, but if, for some fell chance I land back in the area, I know exactly where I'm heading first!
