Don't let the Chalet fool you. It's a dive bar without the strange smells, the grime, and the dusty bottles. I just love the laid back atmosphere that Kleeman's offers. If you want to get your drink on this is the place to go to. When I was there I met some honey's that were old enough to be my daughters, but drunk enough not to give a shit. Got's to love any place that offers that.
Review Source:Kleeman's is a neighborhood bar that serves a limited menu but has at least FOUR New Glarus brews on tap. Â In my world, that gets you 3 stars right off the bat. Â I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and my wife ordered the grilled chicken club. Â Both were delicious and a good sized sandwich. Â (It helps that they were a relatively healthy choice too.)
The bar is spotless! Â In chatting with the bartender, it was totally redone and reopened in Fall 2011. Â When I return to New Glarus, Kleeman's is definitely a place that I would return to quench my thirst.
This place cracked me up and I had a ton of fun. First of all, it's a dive bar, so don't get upset if no one is giving you hugs and open arms as you come in. But who cares? We just came here for a beer in between our beer drinking. It was only $3.50 for a New Glarus beer. Seriously?! Coming from Chicago where anything besides domestic is $8 a glass, we were in heaven. They also had a pool table so we played a few games. All the locals were looking at us like we were crazy because we were laughing and having a great time, and we were probably killing their melencholy mood, but with the right people, a pool table, and inexpensive beer, any place can be fun and Kleeman's definitely provided us with that.
