Knightstown Cafe

Called the number listed here on 10/16/13 and a recording said it had been disconnected.  Is this place still open for business?

What a find! Passing through eastern Indiana around midday, we opted against using our Cracker Barrel gift card and instead trusted a cafe with one review, a very positive review. Ordered the specialty, the breaded pork loin sandwich, with sides of cucumber-onion salad and fried zucchini with almonds. The pork was tender, juicy and thick -- not beaten paper-thin like most -- with a flavorful breading cooked at just the right temperature and presented on a corn-dusted roll. The salad was perfectly seasoned, not too vinegary, not too sweet. The zucchini was fried in chunks, covered in perhaps the same batter as the sandwiches, but with almond slivers added. All was de-lish! We'd definitely come back when we are in the area again.

Knightstown Cafe is off the beaten path as far as restaurants go, but as for convenience, it's easy to get to...just off of I-70 at the State Road 109 exit and US 40, it's only a 35 minute drive from the north side of Indianapolis.  This is home cooking at its best.  We've been there a couple of times and each dish we've ordered has been just wonderful.  Their chicken tenders are hand-breaded with a twist - the breading is uniquely seasoned and delicious.  Their hand-cut seasoned fries are outstanding, as well as their onion rings.  Don't expect them quickly, but expect the best onion rings you've ever tasted when you get them!  They are simply amazing!  Their hand-cut, hand-breaded tenderloin is moist, juicy and flavorful.  Their ultimate burger can be customized to your liking, but is great when you order it and have it served to you as is offered right from the menu.  When you're in the mood for comfort food, pay a visit to Knightstown Cafe.  You won't be disappointed.
