There is precious little to choose from in Mt. Vernon so it makes you appreciate the few offerings even more.
The bar had locals when we arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon. They were friendly. We sat in the adjacent diner like seating area.
Had frog legs, fried shrimp. Fiancée had the chicken breasts.
Overall it was above average. The people made it nicer.
Discovered that the wife of the owner is from Texas. That explains the Texas toast, shiner bock beer, and frog legs!
The towns new water front area is very nice. A stroll along it and a diner at koodie hoos is quite pleasant.
