The concept is great. The execution, not so much. The restaurant sits on a rural highway in the middle of nowhere. It is two grain silos connected by a frame structure. Definitely eye-catching and a great idea.
You would think that a corn-themed restaurant would have some corn specialties -- corn bread, corn chowder, corn on the cob, corn sides. Nope, nothing. Just a really plain and unimaginative menu heavy on sandwiches.
This was 5 p.m. on a Saturday. I was going to order the catfish (a house "specialty"), but they were out. I was going to order the "house" special salad dressing "but it was out." When the waitress (who was working the bar area and the eating area) brought the salads, I could see why. They only serve ready-made dressing in fast-food, single-serve packets. The "special" salads were lame iceberg lettuce. We were the only people in the restaurant eating, never a good sign.
The Korn Krib should be turned back into real corn cribs.
