Kountry Kitchen

The Kountry Kitchen is a local restaurant in Booneville Kentucky. When I entered, I was not greeted and was brushed off to the side. This seems like a local mainly spot to visit, so she probably assumed I knew the drill. Then when I sit down to look around, the employees were not very sanitary. There were a few nose wipes with no hand washing afterwards. Then after I ordered the waitress was dazed and confused in what I wanted. She had forgotten my order and it was not at all a pleasant experience.  The great thing about this place though is the prices, but the food isn't that great, I guess you pay for what you get. This place needs work, but it was interesting to see their idea of a local establishment.

Typical American restaurant so don't expect 5 star food and customer service. When trying to order my food the waitress did not know if they had the plate I wanted or not, and she did not mind on going to ask, I did not like that. I had a really good deal on my bacon cheeseburger and nuggets. The food was not the best quality but it was worth the money I paid. I like this place because you can really experience how people live here, most of the customers are locals.

I did not like this restuarant mainly for sanitary reasons. I don't believe the cooks are very clean. For example, one had bent over to tie his shoe and then picked up some garbage off the ground and then went back to cooking without washing his hands. I was very skeptical of eating the food after I saw that. I had ordered chicken nuggets and fries which was descent, probably frozen of course.

Also, I think the service is not that great. It was hard to feel welcomed within the environment. She quickly handed us the check on a scribbled piece of notebook paper, but she did write thank you. When we were trying to order she made us have a back up in case they didn't have chicken nuggets. She wouldn't go check beforehand, but luckily they had chicken nuggets I guess. They didn't have some of the soft drinks that were listed on  the menu.

The establishment allows smoking, but if you do smoke the people sitting on the smoking side do not seem to like it even though they are in the designated smoking area. I feel like this restaurant caters to more of the locals. I would like to eat there if they were cleaner and friendlier because the prices were pretty great!
