We were down in Angleton last week for a funeral. Â My honey bunny grew up there but hadn't been back for quite a few years. Â Needless to say, Angleton was a whole lot different from when he grew up, which was the late 70s and early 80s! Â
We had supper there on 10/19. Â Wow...there are no words to describe the awesomeness that was our food! Â My honey bunny and I both had the special of the day. Â It consisted of 1 yummy cheese enchilada, amazing rice, delicious fish, savory side of veggies, and 1 bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp!! Â OMG! Â Food of the Gods.....I had no idea that Angleton had such a spectacular Tex-Mex place. Â My kiddos had the cheese enchilada kids meals.....I have never seen my kids finish whats on their plate and I didn't have to repeatedly ask them to finish. Â These kids were the first ones done!! Â I miss you, La Casona :-( Â Wish you were closer to me. Â I need to mention that we went back a second (the next day) Â We all had the same thing.....OMG it was still awesome!! Â But this time around we had dessert. Â I had flan, honey bunny had a piece of tres leches pastel, and my kiddos shared a chocolate cheesecake slice! Â I could live there and not mind getting fat! Â If you haven't tried it....please go. Â You can always go down to Surfside Beach and swim some laps. Â
I am a fan of La Casona! Â Next time we are in the Angleton area you can bet your socks that you will find me here...at the eighth wonder of the world, La Casona! Â

We drove to Angleton, TX 8/29. After our fabulous lunch at Luigi's, we stopped in to La Casona for a drink. Fabulous margaritas, and wonderful service. We were visiting people there, and this is also where they chose for dinner. It was great. We had a huge sampler appetizer. Wow! Everything on it was so great. Nachos, shrimp a couple of different ways, stuffed jalapeño, guac and sour cream. So tasty. My mother ordered the Vallarta, cheese and shrimp stuffed poblano. Three adults shared the super sampler app. and that Vallarta. The servings are so big, it was plenty. Others at our table had fajitas and quesadillas, all so good. The chips are good, the salsa, it's warm and thin, not much chunk to it. Others loved it. I like a chunky cold dip for my hot chip. Just me. A couple of us had a large house frozen and got our butts kicked. Others had margaritas on the rocks and said they weren't feeling the same. It was so flavorful. The service so good. Angleton TX was a pleasant surprise in the food department.

The margs are awesome. Make sure you get the golden top! The hot sauce is served warm, which makes it all the better.
I always get the Cameron Mucho which is bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with jalapenos and cheese. They're huge! They serve crawfish on Tuesdays as they're spicy!
