Maybe we have higher expectations from living in Chicago with so many great Italian  spots but this place isn't good  no matter where you live if you value fresh ingredients and authentic Italian food. My husband had the spicy sausage with pasta and was terrible. Chewy meat and sauce from a can aren't my idea of a nice meal from a white table cloth restaurant. Plus nothing was spicy.  As for service, the  bartender came to serve our martini table side was a nice touch. But our server was pretty bad, no opinion on what to recommend on the menu, didn't know what some items were and forgot simple requests like balsamic vinegar. I had a to flag down someone else to bring it over. Thank goodness for the busboy who remembered to refill my water- he was the bright spot in otherwise dreary service. Overall, save you $$$ and go to Joey's across the street.
PS- I pretty sure the 2 other reviews rating this place so high are employees or friends of the owners since they have never reviewed any other restaurants!
went to this restaurant for my birthday last night!  the food was awesome!  the eggplant parm was the best i ever had!  the calamari app was good too!  my husband orderd  spaghetti with spicy sausage and my daughter had fettuccine with vodka sauce, both were very satisfied!  TRUE italian service!  i can not wait to go back.  next time i'm going earlier to enjoy the happy hour too!
