Picture a medium-large single room bar in a small rural Oregon town. Â Go ahead, just imagine it. Â Were there a bunch of dirty pickup trucks outside? Â Football playing on the TV over the bar? Â Did you picture a couple of pool tables? Â How about a juke box? Â Maybe a corner with some video poker machines? Â Perhaps some hard working local ranchers sitting at the counter? Â A few tables being served by a no-nonsense older waitress who has clearly worked there for her whole life? Â Maybe even cold Bud Lights being served in Mason jars? Â I bet if you imagined the menu, you'd think of a few kinds of burgers, a couple standard sandwiches, maybe a token salad or two. Â Well give yourself a pat on the back. Â You just perfectly envisioned the Lamonta Roadhouse on your very first try! Â The beer was ice cold, the fries were crispy, and the cheeseburger was a bit better than I anticipated. Â It was the perfect spot for lunch after a chilly morning of pheasant hunting in Central Oregon.
