Have always received great, fast and friendly service. They don't deliver but I live right around the corner so it doesn't phase me. They provide paper plates and utensils which is nice, not like I'm cheap but it's better to not do dishes.
Pizza:
The pizza's are always served hot and with fresh ingredients. I feel the dough is a little thick, and has a little sauce, but that's for everyone to judge for themselves, they still make a great pie.
Service:
Excellent. Whether I call or go in, the staff is always friendly and attentive. The pizza is usually ready in 15 mins which is great, none of this 30-45 min BS like Pizza Hut. Although with no delivery I can see how they would be able to keep up. When giving you your order they always make sure you have everything that you need.
Seating (indoors):
Although I've never sat down to eat in here, it has plenty of room and TV's to watch the games. They have large tables to accommodate groups (parties, sports teams...) Tables are always looks clean and neat, no complaints here.
I'll definitely continue to order when in the mood.
Just had Lamppost Pizza delivered by LA Bites. I think I just found my new favorite pizza place. BBQ Chicken and the Veggie were fantastic. Delizioso!!! Â I was a little concerned about the delivery, but the pizza arrived on-time and hot. I think I'll use a BOGOPOD coupon this weekend for a Family Special.
Review Source:Lamppost is a local pizza joint tucked in the North Ranch Pavillion Shopping Center.
Like most reviewers, I too grew up on Lamppost-use to come here after football games and during lunch breaks.
Its been a few years since I've had their pie. Â Stopped in for the "No hassel lunch ($8)," two slices of pepperoni pie, salad and drink. The pizza is ok, not my favorite- it certainly is served hot, but in no time the crust gets chewy and is soaked in oil, plus some. The salad in this combo contained all iceberg lettuce, tasted bland.
I do like their Chinese chicken salad- romaine lettuce, cashews, tri color spiral noodles, crispy chow mein noodles, generous amount of juicy chicken and mandarin oranges (best w/o or on the side or else it weighs the dish down) tossed in sesame dressing.
One thing I still have to try is their breakfast fruit pizza I just never think to eat Lamppost in the am.
Been coming here since 1996. They use the best ingredients and have a very friendly staff. Always accommodating and a nice change from impersonal chains. Simple pepperoni is always my favorite but you honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. To top it all off the owner is a long time local and has lots invested in the community!
Review Source:Great food! I'm a student at Oak Park High and come for lunch all the time. Sometimes one of the guys on staff will get aggravated if you say an order wrong or if it's chaotic, but the other ones are very friendly and easy going.
The games are cute and the place is very clean. Another great thing is they clean up after you. So when my friends and I are running late, we can book it and not have to worry about throwing everything away and taking care of dishes.
It's a nice place to hang out with lots of windows to enjoy the weather outside but be comfortable inside. I hope this places never flops.
I have been eating here since high school! Â I used to always get their taco pizza with ground beef, cheese, shredded lettuce and tomatoes!! Â If you are coming here with some friends, I suggest you get the combo appetizer platter that has wings, potato wedges, mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini. Â For those of you on a diet, there are tons of salad options. Â There is also a small selection of pastas and sandwiches. Â I really love their california chicken pizza - it comes with avocado, bsil, and garlic. Â There is a huge tv so your BF doesnt get bored, some video games for the kids and a little train that runs around the perimeter of the place.
Review Source:OK so this is my favorite local pizza parlor. Â It is exactly what you think of when you think pizza parlor. Â They have great decor to include a running train that goes around the wall which kids love. Â The have cool video games for them to play plus those sticker machines. Â For adults they have many large screen TV's which normally have some sport on. Â
The staff is AWESOME. Â They are always friendly and helpful and will gladly comply with any reasonable request. (Hey I want a free pizza is not a reasonable request). Â The food never takes a long time and if you get one of they yummy salads they get it to you right away. Â As a parent wanting me kids to fill up on salad and not pizza that is really appreciated. Â
Now as to food. Â The pizza is pretty good and the sizes are large so the prices is well worth what you get. Â The bread stick that comes with some of the salads is really good and I wish they served more of it. Â They have a wide menu (pizza, pastas, salads, sandwiches, appetizers). Â The only with that I wish was a little better was the hot wings. Â They are not like plain red chicken then Hot Wings. Â But they are totally eatable :) Â Their lunch specials ROCK btw. Â
Bottom line if you want good pizza in a cool place with friendly servers this is your place.
been coming here for a long time. Wife loves it. I eat it but it's become really expensive and it's not worth much more than nostalgia at this point. Pizza is ok. garlic cheese bread is good. lunch specials are not cheap, pizza is not cheap, even the video games are grossly overpriced.
Review Source:I've been coming to Lamppost since I was in the 7th grade ( 1996). It has always had a great family atmosphere. Great selection of beer on tap. Pizzas are definitely the best in the area.......only thing that needs to be updated.....the tv's. Spoke with the owner and she said its not a place where people come to watch sports on tv.......but i said " IMAGINE HOW MUCH MORE BUSINESS YOU WOULD BRING IN" Â it has been the same story every year.
Cant go wrong with Lamppost. I know all the managers and cooks there. It's like my version of cheers.
Went later in the evening on a weeknight, place was pretty empty.
Bonus points for having Fresca! I love Fresca, it's rarely found as a fountain drink.
As always, I have to warn that I am from the Boston area, where pizza is a perfection. I have yet to find the equivalent of east coast pizza in Los Angeles.
That aside, Lamp Post actually has fairly decent pizza. I choose three stars because it is pretty a-ok. I would even eat here again if I had a big pizza craving.
East coast pizza you are not, but edible nevertheless.
Downside: Had at least two or three tvs blaring different channels, causing quite a bit of ruckus.
I debated and since I grew up going to Lampost after my football games I decided to go with 3 stars.
This is a family place but if the family is on a budget I don't recommend it.
I paid 30$ for a large 3 topping pizza.
Topper's is way better if you can make it to T.O. but the pizza was not awful just did not blow me away at all. The dough was lacking for me.
30$ really shocked me though.
It' is not the best pizza in town unless you are only considering Oak Park then maybe the best... and the only pizza in town.
I love the pizza and the chicken its sooooo good!
The people who work here are always sooo nice
Only draw back I dont bring my son or my baby anymore there are always loud drunk men who cuss like its the thing to do with a bunch of kids around! Go to a bar and leave your kids @ home for goodness sake!
Great pizza and terrific service. My husband and I usually get take out here but today we decided to dine in and have some of our family join us for a lil bday dinner for my husband. I called ahead and ask the staff if I could bring in a small cake to surprise my husband. They said no problem and were very friendly. When we got there we we ordered and got a family deal, which is a great price. Go online for their specials. Pizza and starters came out and all is terrific! They were helpful with the cake and took great care of us! Kids loved the arcade games! Will schedule another get together soon.
Review Source:They have a great family special for about 20 bucks. The salad you get with it is more than enough for 4 people and they give you whatever dressings you want with no hassles. Â
The only negative would be that they used to have a couple of big screens and now all they have is 4 small old-school TV's that unless you are sitting right under them, it is hard to see.
And someone else said they deliver. Sorry, this location never has delivered and stupidly never will.
Oh my gosh the pizza was so yummy! The vegetarian pizza is so good, I say its a must have. Its very unique, with the fresh avocado, and tomatoes. We were only visiting the area, but I will definitely go back there next time we are in the area. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because their group salad was somewhat small and some of the games were a rip off and ate my kids money. But for every thing else it was good!
Review Source:I consider myself a pizza fanatic (I am, after all, having pizza at my wedding). Â Lampost has some of the best pizza around. Â I am usually more of a fan of thin crust or New York style pizza, and although this is a thicker slice, the flavor is outstanding. Â The atmosphere can be a little annoying since groups of softball teams and birthday parties like to gather there, but the beer on tap more than makes up for it. Â Love this pizza.
Review Source:I love the pizza and breadsticks here, try the california pizza; fresh chicken, fresh basil, and fresh avocado on great pizza... so delicious! Â They also have a bunch of other stuff; salads, antipastos, sandwiches, etc.
Lampost has lots of TV's to watch the major sports games and fun arcade for kids and big kids alike. Â Their decor is interesting, it looks like inside a brick house and there is a train driving around the room. Â Overall a fun place for lunch to a late dinner.
They deliver too.
