What a great meal - so inexpensive and all hometown goodness. The burgers are excellent, the eggs and sausages are delish, the calzones and pizzas are huge and full of cheese and meat, the bread - HOMEBAKED - as are the rolls and donuts and pies... my #1 wish is that they stayed open later (the ice cream stand does, in the summer) as we like to eat after the sun goes down. These are hometown boys who cater to everyone, and it works.....we love the place, as do our Canadian friends who stop here when passing through. The waitresses are so sweet - "Hon, can I get you more..?"... no kidding. It is a trip back in time complete with NY Yankees memorabilia.
You WILL NOT LEAVE HUNGRY...guaranteed...and if you are picky, just ask and you shall receive.
Reviews are all about expectation, and Leonard's did a fine job.
We just needed a place to eat, and there wasn't one for quite some time. Leonard's is a typical middle of nowhere, small-town greasy spoon, with a few interesting touches. The selection wasn't great, but the prices were reasonable, the food was fine (I got eggs), and the service was quick.
The wall was covered with a pretty impressive collection of Yankee memorabilia - odd to see 6 hours from the Bronx. Leonard must be a Yankee fan.
