Came here during lunchtime last week. It was completely dead. There was one other table and a ton of waitresses doing nothing. Our waitress was nice, just super slow and not attentive. It took about 25 minutes for her to get us water....water. We didn't ask for a complex drink, she just seemed to dilly dally. When the food arrived, it was okay. Nothing special. I got the queso jalapeno turkey burger, we also ordered some pretzel knots. Meh. I've had better.
I've heard it's pretty good around dinner time so I might consider going back the next time I'm in Oak Ridge.
Lincoln's has been a great boost to the Oak Ridge dining scene. A great sports pub environment with friendly service, good food and the town's largest selection of taps. Even though I moved out of the area well before Lincoln's opened, I generally make a point to stop in whenever I visit OR. Two thumps up.
Review Source:Is this place a sports bar or a music joint? When I go out to a sports bar I want to hang with the guys and watch some sports. But it seems like every time we go there they have a bad band that is playing music way to loud. If I want to go out and listen to a band I am all for that, but not when I want to watch some Thursday night college football. I am surprised the owners have not caught on to this, for when a band is playing every is sitting as far away from the stage as possible. Other then that, I like the place. The food is good and the wait staff are great, just get rid of the music and you will have a winner!
Review Source:My wife and I have been to Lincoln's three times since it opened. Â Two times have been a complete fiasco. Â One time was "alright". Â The absolute, 100% main problem in my opinion HAS to be the wait staff. Â They have a bevy of attractive young ladies working the restaurant portion and, while they're not rude per se, their inexperience can border on complete incompetence. Â
I'm talking about waiting an hour and a half for an order of a dozen wings. Â I'm talking about have to request FIVE TIMES for our drinks to be delivered. Â During one of the "fiasco" visits we watched the entire waitress staff playing grab ass with both the karaoke DJ, the manager and each other while a room packed with paying customers waited on their food and drink. Â I'm talking about two thirds of the wait staff getting on stage and singing back to back karaoke songs instead of waiting on tables.
It would appear that the management has absolutely no problem with this and even encourages it. Â I'm sure the skin tight shorts and knee socks help ease the pain of the protracted wait for your food for the predominantly male after work / jock / good old boy crowd but as a married guy who just wants a beer and bite....well....I just want my food and my beer. Â I'm not there to see a reality show based around the wacky antics of the Lincoln's wait staff. Â I would remind the owners that even Hooter's, which seems to be vibe they want to go for, has a standard of service.
The alright time, my wife and I sat at the bar and received stellar service from the bar staff. Â It is for these gentlemen alone that I give this review two stars.
The food is okay....strictly food service truck but alright. Â Â Nothing new under the sun on the menu. Â It is your standard sports bar fare. Â
The sad part is that the space itself is very, very cool. Â Lots of televisions with just about every sport imaginable going on. Â They also have live music and entertainment. Â Until, however, they get their act together with the service, I won't be going back.
I'm not a huge fan of Lincoln's, but the place definitely gets the job done. The place has the feel of a Buffalo Wild Wings without the heavy focus on the wings. So, you really can go with your friends or family and not feel weird either way. I do like that the spice meter to rate the wings are named X-10, Y-12, and K-25 to honor the science institutions that made Oak Ridge famous. Plus their are TVs everywhere.
The last time i went I ordered the philly cheesesteak and it was good, not great. I too think the fried pickles are pretty good. I did laugh because Thursday night is "ladies night" so the drink specials are sangria, margaritas, and white russians. I got a blue moon ( good amount of draft beer) and really scratched my head at white russians as the ladies favorite.
Place seemed pretty darn near brand-new when I visited a couple months ago (yes, I backlog reviews and then put a bunch up at once, sue me).
The other reviews do a pretty good job of covering the feel of the place. Spacious, clean, cute waitresses, good food. The tortilla soup seemed homemade and was quite good. Wings were very good, as well, though we only tried the "hot" sauce. I don't recall the cute name for it - manhattan project or some such. Grilled chicken sandwich was also surprisingly tasty. It's all just bar food, but it's good bar food, at least.
I hope this place does well, because I'd like to come back here in a couple months when I'm back in Oak Ridge for two weeks straight...
Lincoln's gets 4 stars from me -- even though I dislike the sports-bar concept, don't enjoy karaoke, and won't go out of my way for a chance to eat standard American bar food. Fact is that Lincoln's is doing the "sports bar" thing very well, with a variety of seating areas, well-prepared food, a decent selection of beers, and a small music stage for karaoke and sometimes for live performers. As another reviewer has said, the place even manages to be family-friendly.
Review Source:Lincoln's fancies it up putting the E on Grill, but I'll forgive them. Â A dark cave with the obligatory wall spaces jammed with TVs this is not. Â Lincoln's is the sports bar that won't draw sideways looks from the wife when you suggest taking the family there.
Sure, they have the cutesy waitresses, but they're not trying too hard and the place is very clean and spacious. Â Different levels of seating rooms, high ceilings, and even different rooms for pool and video games keeps this place feeling fresh and light. Â Lots of baseball jerseys on the wall. There is even a McGuire jersey (is that a GNC receipt in the pocket?) It is Bailey's without the smoke and Beef O'Brady's without the cheese ball.
The food is predictable but I did appreciate the heads up on the pickles. They were excellent. Â My lunch time order was quick and easy. Â Great place in a community that needs it! Thinking of making it a Fantasy Football draft HQ! Knoxville doesn't have a spot like this.
Heard this place was the new happening spot in Oak Ridge. Â Came here for lunch with my colleague, and ordered the deep fried pickles (AWESOME!), and a Big Dawg (gigantic foot long angus beef hot dog, with chili, cheese, and cole slaw- southern style) with a big basket of fries. Â I couldn't finish the Big Dawg (not to mention the basket of fries), and I didn't feel bad when the waitress said that the other table split it in half. Â Couldn't believe it was just $5.99 for the Big Dawg and basket of fries!
Service was very friendly, and kept our iced sweet teas filled. Â Plenty of big screen plasma's, and a large full bar with plenty of beers on tap... Â Lunch hour seemed fairly busy, but I hear the place gets hopping after work, and on weekends.
Gotta' have the deep fried pickles!!! Â Definitely will be back when I'm in the area.
