1000+ miles in the car and spending the previous night in a tent, these cross-country kids needed some nourishment! I longed for an endless pot of coffee in one of those classic diner-style white ceramic mugs - not to mention a hearty breakfast.
Despite immediately catching the attention of anyone nearby, as we were clearly from out of town, we received a warm welcome and a hot pot of coffee as soon as we stumbled in. The waitress was lovely, refilling our mugs with piping hot coffee countless times and bringing over plenty of the locally made jams, 10 or so flavors, to try with our toast. (They sell jars of the jam, so the party doesn't stop after breakfast! Take some for the road, literally.)
It was everything we'd hoped for and then some. A place to sit, that wasn't in the drivers seat, a hot tasty meal and enough coffee to cause far too many bathroom breaks over the next 500 miles.
