Horrible experience here. Â There wasnt much of an option to places serving dinner at 10pm within walking distance of our bed n breakfast, so we stopped by here. Food was decent. The atmosphere was comical. The owner of the bar was getting drunk at the bar, not really caring about the customers. Bartender lowered the music and the drunk owner asks him what are you doing. Bartender tells the owner that he just lowered it a little because ome customers are about to have dinner. Owner replies "like it matters". We did not ask the music to be lowered FYI. Gets even better after this. Â A college girl is he and he offers her a shot even after she tells him that shes 19. I get it local bar with a college near by, but dont make it so blatantly obvious with other patrons around. Then came the topping on the cake, a part straight out of an episode of bar rescue. The owner decides to have a push up contest with a college girl right in front of our booth while we're trying to eat our food. So, if you're in a bind and need to have a late dinner in the area, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else.
Review Source:This place is my one MUST STOP place when I go back home!
I love the food; the wings, the cheese board, the nachos, the potato skins - all of it is great. The popcorn is always fresh and free. They have a pretty good selestion of beers too, not just the local and usual but some crafts too. They serve local wines as well!
Definitely a locals joint where they welcome strangers with shots and a free-t-shirt, well, that's what we got anyway! Had a blast here - they have some wonderful bottled beer that you don't see everywhere and the pizza was phenomenal. A regular ordered the burger and it arrived as we were leaving and I would absolutely order that next time. Â The owner or manager (not sure what he was) was there and super friendly like everyone there!
Review Source:Reading the earlier reviews, I wonder if I caught them on an "off" day. Â We went to see the Curtiss Air Museum in Hammondsport on Memorial Day (May 28) 2012. Â The "Switz" Inn in Hamm. wouldn't open for lunch until noon, so we headed to PY. Â We searched and settled on Lloyds. Â We both ordered the open-faced Reuben. Â We were one of maybe a dozen customers, but it took over 1/2 HOUR to get our food. Â The food was good, but figured that we could have waited in Hamm at the Switz, gotten our food and eaten by the time we were served here!
Review Source:There are a few things you need to know before going to Lloyds. (Which my wife and I didn't) 1.) It's not in the greatest area so don't expect any scenery. 2.) It's seat yourself. When we walked in a server came to the door and greeted us, stood there for a few moments and said "excuse me" apparently we were blocking her from re-stocking the paper towels that are on each table. As she walked away she yelled back seat yourself and order at the bar. 3.) Order at the bar. There is a section at the end of the bar where you place an order, and daily specials are displayed. We did not know this and walked straight by to our table. With out knowing any specials or exactly where to place the order we managed to get an order in. So why 4 stars? Because where the service/atmosphere lack the food and drink excel. Excellent wings, solid steak sandwich with fries, and perfect bacon topped sirloin with fresh cucumber tomato salad. Good beer selection, and great local wines to choose from! Hopefully these tips will help your dining experience run smoother then our first trip, at least we know what to do next time because we will return when visiting Keuka lake.
Review Source:Without doubt, Lloyds has the best chicken wings in the greater metropolitan Penn Yan area!
Their other stuff is good, too -- for example, they make a stellar mushroom burger -- but I'm just addicted to the wings. It's also a cool place to hang out in PY -- probably the coolest. Prices are reasonable, bar staff is very friendly. Have patience with the weird "order at the bar" setup and you'll be a happy camperette.
Cool cool place to end a day of wine tasting. What I loved the most is that it's a bar full of locals, but a tourist like me is just as welcome. Â As a matter of fact I had a great time meeting and talking to some of the extremely friendly locals sitting at the bar. Â Didn't try the food but it did look good. Â And the best part...within walking distance of my hotel.
Glad to find this place. Â Would definitely be a regular if I lived here.
Am I really in Penn Yan, NY? Â This is a very cool spot, kinda Old Skool. Â The things I love about Lloyds; Â the bbq ribs, the tomato and cucumber salad, the pulled pork sammy. Â Delish. Â
We love to sit at the bar (duh) and watch the bartenders whisk the orders to the kitchen from a clip on a metal wire, it flies past you and makes a loud bang when it hits the kitchen, kinda like Hooter's (not that I want to admit i have actually been to Hooter's)
They have a great outside patio, not that there is much action in the Yan. Â Overall this is about as good as it gets in this sleepy little town. Â Check it out.
Its so funny to me that this place exists in such a random place.
Read Penn Yan, NY.
As a college student from NYC who was completely at a loss for the absolute nothing PY had to offer Lloyds was a shock. It is so god damn good.
The brisket and waffle fries?
Really Penn Yan?
Hell yes.
The place itself is great. Perfect dive. Perfect yum.
Penn Yan's premiere hot spot... well sort of, they have an awesome low key "unhurried congenial" pub atmosphere and great wings, burgers, and beer. Â Lloyds has a big menu and the food here is real (ex. they bread the onion rings.) Â The kitchen is open til midnight, last call is 1am.
Wednesday is 25 cent wing night (no take out), a Friday fish fry, and free internet. Â Order at the bar.
Visitors to Penn Yan should eat at Lloyd's, it's family friendly and the food is great!
I have been going to Lloyd's w/ my family for literally my whole life. Â Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders. Â Just all around a fantastic place. Â Plus, the popcorn is to die for! Â Nothing will ever compare to Lloyd's for me and if I ever get married, I just might have my reception there. Â That is how much I love it.
