Went here for me and my boyfriend's one year anniversary. We got the three dishes for 20 deal and it was amazing. All of the food was amazing and we were served promptly. The place is gorgeous with beautiful paintings all around. Our server was conservsational and extremely polite. The lobster bisque and a salad was included in our meal on top of the three dishes! One of the best dinners I've had in a while, I'll be going back very soon!
Edit: I've gone back numerous times now, the service is great everytime and the food is fantastic. I always tell people to go themselves and always speak well of the restaurant.
Had a group of 15, and called 1 day before for reservations and we got it!! Â This is the holiday season and the weekend!!?? Â Amazing, Thank you!
Server: Â Excellent but was clearly overwhelmed with all the tables she was working on. Â I think they may need more servers?? Â We got our drinks, but was delayed more than usual between refills.
Food: Â Top notch! Â Kudo's to the chef's at The Lobster House! Â Everything was wonderful, hot and delicious! Â Thank you.
Decor: Â Nice, but not over the top.
Bathrooms: Â Drastic improvements needed here. Â The Mens room was a death trap if a fire ever broke out. Â If your using the farthest urinal your trapped until the person on your side leaves! Â uggh! Â A place like this should have a decent sized and appointed restroom. Â This is why they failed my 5 - Star rating. Â Not sure how the lady's room was?
Would definitately recommend to friends and family.
I'll be back!
Happy Holidays!
OK- this past few months we ate here three times due to the people (different people) we ate dinner with- Two out of my three meals were pretty bad. Lobster stuffed was old and chewy- waitress said they cook it and refridgerate it all day till they broil it again to serve you- it tastes like that... crab cake was an undercooked mush. Coconut shrimp greasy- Lobster Bisque- absolutly the best AROUND ANYWHERE-authentic and tasty- cole slaw pretty creamy and smooth but has a tart kick-
Fried shrimp was not bad- the biscuits were good only once out of the three times we went.
Flounder broiled or fried was good. Broiled scallops and shrimp fair at best- but fried scallops not good had to send them back. The service every time was very good. Too much of a hit or miss for me...I'm done.
Some friends talked highly about this place and recommended us to try it, especially since they knew I loved seafood. Â It's one hour out of our way, and in a town where there're no other places to visit. Â But we traveled anyhow. Â The place was cozy and had lots of room. Â I imagine they have a lot of patrons from the area especially during the weekends.
Our young receptionist doubled as our server. Â He was nice and kept on checking on us once in a while. Â He made sure the kids' meals came in right away. Â Â
The food, however, did not meet our expectations. Â Let's put it this way--I wouldn't drive out of the way to eat the same food I can find in the town where I live.
One good thing came out of this experience though. Â Now we know there's such a place as Norwood, NY.
In an area somewhat bereft of fine dining - a shining star.
The salmon here is delicious. The chowder is amazing. Undoubtedly the best chowder in the area.
I don't eat meat anymore but the Prime Rib is amazing here. A very nice sized portion as well.
The Calamari is delicious, crispy, but a bit greasy. The sauce they serve with it is unique and made in house. Some kind of secret sweet and sour.
They have cheesy garlic biscuits a bit like Red Lobster. Because I have been to The Lobster House so many more time times than Red Lobster It took me a few runs to realize that Lobster House copied red Lobsters biscuits. I actually think they are just as good if not better here.
So, if your in the area - you should definitely go either here or Angelo's in Potsdam. Both have good seafood. Both have great fish. Both have some unique items.
