Lone Fir Resort

A great little spot for before or after your Mt St Helen's visit. We spent the night after hiking 8 miles and it was perfect. The pizza was surprisingly good, as folks are saying. And they had a nice, if small, beer list. They stay open until they are no longer busy, so head's up on that! The staff were nice and helpful.

the room was nothing great, but we were pleased. The bed had a feather top, which was lovely. But like folks say, just two small pillows. Luckily I travel with my own! It's not fancy, but it's perfect! plus there is a little espresso hut within walking distance.

as far as the food goes, which I was looking forward to,I can't say because although it was only 6  o'clock they decided to close the cafe before I arrived.

the motel room was old,  cheap 1970's  plastic light fixtures with cracks.   tacky wood panel walls, a heater that is either full on or full off and nothing in between.

the bed was rock hard with only two small pillows, we awoke with sore necks and stiff backs. the tub had no anti-slip mat  but did have stains where one once was.

the fan in the bathroom didn't work.   the refrigerator made loud noises and woke me up,  had to unplug it to get any sleep.  

there was a coffee maker in the bathroom but they only supplied decaf.

in short this stay was not anywhere worth the $80 we paid.

Our room was clean and quite large. The decor is sort of 70s-era log cabin feeling, but the beds were comfy and we got a great night's sleep after a day of hiking. There's no a/c and no alarm clock, but there is free wi-fi (which is spotty sometimes), coffee maker, tv, and a refrigerator. Other rooms have kitchen/ettes. The woman who checked us in was courteous and quick.
