Wow. I don't know where to begin with this review. Hmm, let's do breakfast first. Chicken fried steak with knock-out gravies (especially liked the sausage). Hamsteak comes on a separate plate. Piggies in a blanket awesome. Okay, partner, let's visit the burger ranch in Dodge City and visit Marshall Dillon- two huge patties, two cheese, thick cut bacon, slices of ham and roast beef, swiss mushroom melt, and ALL the condiments. Lesser stacks of scrumptious burgers also available. And all with home made sauce. Wow, I am so full, my palate is sated, and I still have a bunch of money left in my wallet. Not that I squeak when I walk, but I am really tired of spending big bucks for greasy imitations at many of the new fast food establishments. This building is very old, very cool, comes with eclectic decor, and always the most friendly waitresses (I have NEVER been waited on by a rude person- these folks work really hard to take care of you). To top it off, I have never stopped here without chatting with one or two local families- never heard a complaint from ONE of them. Guess you have to trust me on this one. I have made a couple of stops a year to dine here for about ten years in a row. Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention the restrooms: "Festus" for guys and "Kitty" for the ladies. Stop in- you won't regret it!!!!

This place is OK at the most. I've had good times here and better times. The food is off and on. I can say that when I first ate here about 8 years ago the food was much better. Then the food tasted home-made. Now it tastes of freezer-burnt chicken fried steak and soggy hash browns. The staff are rude and the coffee is even worse. I took my Dad here for Father's day this year who said this was the worst place he's eaten in a long time (and he's a truck driver). I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please do not try the biscuits and gravy; it tastes like Pillsbury and canned gravy!

This is an amazing place just a little bit off the beaten path.  Housed in a historic building constructed in the late 1800's and decorated with the largest salt and paper shaker collection you may have ever seen,  this is the place to go if you want an "epic" meal.

We were drawn in by a friend who said this was the place for some of the greatest biscuits and gravy to be found.  With fresh made buttermilk biscuits and seven (yes that is no typo) kinds of gravy,  we weren't dissapointed.  Biscuits flaky and warm out of the oven,  sausage gravy with a perfect amount of pepper.  Yum.   Tried the Chicken Fried Steak and would say in my life I have only had one better (hats off to Massey's is Ft. Worth Texas), but this was fantastic.  Fork tender, melt in your mouth, with a delicious crisp batter and of course drenched in that to die for sausage gravy.

All this said,  we have to go back.  If you can find a 7 dollar hamburger that is anything like the monsters they create here,  with your choice of ham or bacon or both on top...then more power too you.  They looked amazing and I am definitely headed back.

Finally, the service is friendly, attentive, and good natured.  Coffee never gets cold and the cup is as bottomless as you like.  Was never rushed even though there wasn't a table to be had left in the entire place.

Definitely go here if you are hungry and don't want to be.
