Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant

My uncle lived in East Bernard, and I got a chance to go eat at this place where apparently my uncle used to eat somewhat often before he died.

My uncle's friend Dan said my uncle loved their buffet.  And sure enough they have a buffet for lunch and apparently have a different dish each day of the week as a feature dish.  Apparently my uncle liked coming there on Tuesdays for the beef ribs.  It's like all you can eat for 7 or 8 bucks and they have salad and fruit at the buffet bar.

One thing I liked is that they were good about coming to refill my huge glass of iced tea.  One thing about Texas is it is friggin hot and humid.  Especially around the Houston area.   So having some good iced tea, unsweetened, was important to each meal.

I thought the food was decent for being a buffet.  I wish I could have tried some other items off the menu but I only got to come here the one time.

The one thing I did notice is that the staff here seemed to be way more interested in watching the hispanic soap opera that they had on the TV than they did in serving customers in the place.  It just kinda looks sloppy to me when the staff is sitting in the eating area paying more attention to the TV than the customers.  But perhaps this is just how things are in East Barnyard Texas as my uncle used to call it.

Anyways, a pretty good all you can eat deal for the lunch buffet.

If you are in the area and having a craving for Mexican food, stop here. Good prices and good food. The botana combo has alittle of everything and the strawberry margarita is delicious as well.

The food here is pretty bad in general, but it's the only sit down place in EB worth going to. The chimichanga is good, very greasy. Also there is no bar, just beer and wine margaritas. Support local business!
