I'm not sure where the other reviewers ate, but the restaurant cleanliness was adequate and the prices were nice and cheap, but the cost was attributed to the fact that the food leaves much to be desired. Very little taste in the food. When I have to add salt to Mexican food, there's definitely a flavor problem. Besides this, and constantly batting the flies away from the table, I think the remote location is what saves this place...not much for competition around this area.
Review Source:This place reminded me of Don Fidencios in Silver City, NM, Â You walk in, there's a menu board full of lots of different mexican dishes you can have, all at very good prices. Â I get the feeling Los Compas sees a lot of takeout business around lunchtime, though there are plenty of tables to sit at.
I went with a beef chimichanga with extra green sauce. Â It was perfectly fried and stuffed with lots of marinated shredded beef. Â It is a meal that will definitely stick to your ribs. Â Besides the usual coke products, they also serve an excellent Horchata. Â There are lots of other menu items I would like to try the next time I am in Las Cruces. Â Highly recommended if you want a quick bite of some good mexican food.
Low prices, good eats, clean location that has a pretty consistent flow of customers from the East Mesa area.
The food was pretty good. I had the green chile burrito...I love what they did with the meat. For a dish that is very simple, it must be the marinade or the sauce that really made this stand out to me. Surprisingly, it was the ice cold lettuce and avocado garnish on the side that really impressed me. It made the whole meal refreshing which was great because it was a hot night.
We also got the large flauta for my son and the green beef (made with ground beef) enchiladas combo with beans and rice complete with the egg on top. These dishes were okay in my book.
They open at 7 am every morning and they serve breakfast...can't wait to try it. This restaurant is pretty popular in Las Cruces as this is their 3rd location in town.
